The insects have to contact the areas that were treated with the Conquer Liquid Insecticide to be eradicated. It is not a non-repellent that is transferred to the other members of the colony. Conquer will start working immediately on the roaches that come into contact with the treated surfaces. It is not a contact kill so they will not die as soon as they touch it, but it will start to work on their system and will start getting weaker and dying within a few hours of contact. We recommend that in addition to a concentrated liquid insecticide like Conquer you also use a high quality roach bait gel such as Invict Roach Bait Gel to help get the roaches that hide in places where you cannot spray (cabinets, counter tops, drawers) as well as an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to help stop the breeding cycle of the roaches. Take a look at our article on How To Get Rid of Roaches to get an explanation of the complete treatment needed to eliminate them.

Conquer will kill the roaches and other insects that contact a treated surface but should not be the only product used to effectively eliminate an infestation. We would recommend one of our roach control kits. You can see the kits by clicking on the link here. We also have a great article for eliminating German Roaches here.
