    Q
Is the active ingredient in Conserve SC conserve exactly the same as in the entrust insecticide
    A

The Spinosade active ingredient in Conserve SC is the same Spinosad active in Entrust SC Naturalyte Insect Control but at different percentages of the active ingredient. Conserve SC uses 11.6% and Entrust SC uses 22.5% Spinosad so will be a little stronger which will require less use of the product.

Please review the Conserve SC product label and Entrust SC product label for application sites, mix rates and more information before treating.

    Q
How can I tell if my Conserve SC bottle is expired? Is there a date somewhere on the bottle?
    A
Conserve SC has a shelf life of about 3-5 years from the date of purchase. The product should be stored in a place where they are protected from over heating, freezing and direct sunlight to ensure the longest shelf life possible.  Manufacturers do not put expiration dates on products as it all depends on how the product is stored as to how long it will last however, there is a lot number on the product that can be verified with the manufacturer on when the product was released from their facility for the specific products.

    Q
Is Conserve SC effective for Erinose mites on Lichee trees?
    A
Conserve SC is labeled as safe to use on lychee, however, it is not labeled specifically for Erinose mites. There is a very informative article by the University of Florida Extension that states using a product with the active ingredient azadirachtin may work which is the active in AzaGuard Insecticide Nematicide, but mainly pruning would help to get rid of the infestation. If you would like further information on AzaGuard Insecicide Nematicide, we would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer (BioSafe Systems) at 888-273-3088.

    Q
Treatment for sawfly using Conserve SC
I have a sawfly problem on all my hardy hibiscus plants every year .I want to prevent that this year .is this a good product for that and how and when should I treat
    A

For prevention of and early spring treatment of rose sawfly, you can use a systemic product like Fertilome Tree and Shrub Systemic Insect Drench. For current sawfly larvae, you can use high pressure water spray to dislodge the insects and/or do a thorough coverage spray using a product such as Conserve SC. It is best to spray in early morning, and be sure you treat the undersides of the leaves where these insects hide.

    Q
Will Conserve SC kill any type of nematodes?
Can I apply Conserve SC and be using nematodes at the same time to combat thrips?
    A

Conserve SC could harm nematodes if they contact a wet surface so it would not be recommended to apply at the same time.  Best to wait a few days in between applications.

    Q
What should I use to treat gypsy moths on spruce trees?
    A

A great product to use for gypsy moths and similar caterpillars would be a product containing natural Spinosad, such as Conserve SC. This should be applied during the spring caterpillar feeding stage with thorough coverage on all leaf surfaces. Conserve SC is great if you have a large area or number of trees to treat. If you are only treating a few trees, then you could use Monterey Garden Insect Spray.
