    Q
What should I use to kill spiders?
I have noticed an influx of spider activity in my house
    A
Cyper WP would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. The active ingredient in Cyper WP is cypermethrin, which is known to be one of the top choices for spider control. Spraying Cyper WP will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.  We have included Cyper in our spider control kit, which also contains glue boards to help monitor the infestation (and help catch the spiders too).

    Q
Does Cyper WP have a fast knockdown effect on house flies? What the best product for fast knockdown of flies?
    A
While Cyper WP will kill any house flies that land on a surface that has been treated with it, there are some other products that may be better for your situation. Can you please tell us where you are trying to control the fly problem and what kind of property you have (ie: home, business, farm)? We may be able to give a more specific solution to your fly problem knowing more about your situation.

    Q
Does the Cyper WP kill fleas?
Inside and outside? Is it safe for pets?
    A

Yes, Cyper WP is labeled to kill fleas and it's safe to use inside and outside. It can only be used on baseboards, cracks and crevices inside your home. The 1 lb jar has been discontinued though but we do have Cyper WSP or Demon WP available, these products are also safe on pets.

I would, however, recommend our Outdoor/Indoor Flea kit. You can use both, Onslaught insecticide and Martins IGR, in broadcast applications inside and out. Meaning you can use it on your carpet as well for a more thorough treatment. Both products are also safe for everyone as long as you follow the label instructions and let the area being treated completely dry before letting everyone come back into that area, including your pets.

Yes, Cyper WP is safe to use around your pets as long as you follow the product label. All pets need to be out of the area when you apply Cyper WP. They cannot return until the product is dry, usually about 1 hour.

    Q
Can Cyper WP be used with Termidor?
I have had an ant problem for a couple of years. I started using termidor and it has solved that issue however it is not helping with the spiders. Can I use these two products together?
    A
You can use them at the same time, but not in the same areas. If you spray the Cyper WP on the same area where you have applied the Termidor SC, you will make the Termidor SC repellent, and render it ineffective for ant control. If you have different target areas for the Cyper WP, say in the eaves or indoors to control the spider problem then you would not contaminate the Termidor SC.

    Q
What is your absolute best product for millipedes, nothing we buy seems to work.
    A
Millipedes are usually going to be present when there is a lot of moisture in the area. If you have a lot of mulch near your house, you may want to consider raking it back at least six inches away from the house. Also, trimming bushes so that you can see the soil beneath them and so they do not touch the house will help reduce soil moisture and stop the insects from gaining access to the house via the bushes.  We recommend using Cyper WP around the outside perimeter of the home (especially under and around eaves, decks, patios, and window shutters), and inside along baseboards, in cracks and crevices, and other potential millipede harborages. We have also written an article with other tips that may help you with millipede control : Get Rid of Millipedes

Will Cyper WP rain off after it has dried for 24 hrs?
I sprayed it outdoors for spiders/ants. If it rains, will I have to re-apply? I sprayed on July 2nd, and as of today, I've seen no more webs, spiders, etc. I'll be recommending this to friends and family!
    A
Cyper WP is rain proof after it has been allowed to dry for at least 24 hours. You can reapply Cyper WP after 1 month for best results. We appreciate your comments, recommendations and your business!

  • Asked by Paul from Bartelso, Illinois

    Q
We have the Cyper WP. Can it be used to kill carpet beetles/clothes moths?
My mother-in-law has an old carpet in her house that goes back to about 1962. It has damage from carpet beetles or clothes moths, we aren't sure what. We aren't even sure what the carpet is made of, but it seems to have some damage from some type of insect(?), especially around the edges. If appropriate, what would the cyper/water ratio be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    A
Cyper WP is not labeled for clothes moths or carpet beetles and would not be an appropriate product for your needs. We recommend that you carefully inspect the carpet to see if you can find any live insects, dead insects or any other physical evidence other than the damage. If you do find insects present you should have them identified so you can learn the exact treatment that is needed. The entire carpet should be thoroughly vacuumed and possibly steam cleaned if the material can be cleaned in such a way. Steam cleaning with a steamer that reaches temperatures of at least 140F degrees will kill any insect or insect egg on the carpet. Please take a few moments to read our articles Carpet Beetle Pest Control and How to Get rid of Clothes Moths.

  • Asked by Linda from Phoenix Az, West Valley Area

    Q
Do you have a product that's effective on SCORPIONS found in the Phoenix area?
    A
A wettable powder insecticide such as Cyper WP will do a great job for scorpion control. You should treat all around the base of your home's foundation, and you can also treat around the perimeter of the crawlspace, if needed. Be sure to spray in the areas where scorpions actually harbor, rock beds, garden areas, brick walls, under landscaping timbers, and also spray around the perimeter of your home.

  • Asked by Michael from New Orleans, La

    Q
What product do you recommend for spiders, earwigs and general pest control?
What product do you recommend for me? I live in New Orleans, LA. I am mainly dealing with spiders and earwigs. What do you recommend to treat my the perimeter of my home and foundation with? I'm looking for something with the longest residual, that could hold up against the hot, humid summer sun, as well as frequent rain. In addition, what lawn treatment do you recommend? Thank you.
    A
Cyper WP can be used indoors and outdoors for spider, earwig and general pest control. Cyper Wp is a wettable powder formulation which stands up well to moisture, heat and sun. When treating indoors be sure that all pets and other people are out of the application area and they can return as soon as the area is dry. The Cyper WP product label recommends 2 scoops of product per gallon of water, sprayed directly into cracks and crevices, under appliances, around door frames and window frames and in places where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure. Talstar PL Granules would be a great choice for insect control in lawns

    Q
No scoop included in our Cyper WP.
What size scoop should we have to use? We have searched through the powder with a gloved hand. We are treating for spiders, so need 2 scoops per gallon. What would be the equivalent in tsp. or Tablespoons? thank you!
    A
We video tape every order as it is being packed for quality control. We went back and reviewed the video of your order being packed and can see that the order packer just placed the scoop into the large shipping box, it was not placed inside the Cyper WP tub. If you still have the shipping box you may want to look inside and under the flaps for the scoop (it is made of a translucent plastic). If you have already tossed the box you can use this guide: 1 scoop is the equivalent to 2 level tablespoons so you will need to use 4 level tablespoons per gallon.

Is Cyper WP safe to spay around a well?

  • Asked by Eric from La Plata, Md

    Q
Is Cyper WP safe to use on cedar siding without staining, spotting or discoloring the wood?
    A
Cyper WP will not stain any surface, however since it starts out as a powder prior to mixing, it can leave behind a noticible residue on dark surfaces where it dries back in a some what powdery form. If this residue (which is not permanent) is unwanted, we suggests something like the Demon MAX which carries the same active ingredient as the Cyper WP but will dry completely clear. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
How to treat spider infestation in old house
I have read a number of the questions regarding treating for spiders with Cyper WP. We have an old house, with basement + 3 floors. Many of the spiders seem to be present along the ceilings, and I believe their nests may be present between the floors. They seem to access house via openings from ceiling light fixtures, smoke alarms, and possibly from duct openings. It seems like it would be difficult to 'spray' into the joist space between ceiling and floor above. Can multiple fogger canisters be used to 'fumigate' the house?? If so, which fogger? We have spiders on all 3 floors of the house, and spraying around the outside doesn't seem like it would help all the inside spaces. Most of the spiders seem to be common house spiders or yellow sac spiders.
