Deadline Ornamental is a specially formulated molluscicide that protects your plants and other crops against snails and slugs. It features a mini-pellet formulation and it is designed to create a barrier around gardens, vegetables, fruits, berries, and other ornamental plants to prevent slugs and snail from destroying them. It includes SNARE, a powerful attractant that effectively lures snails and slugs to keep them away from your ornamentals. It is rain and irrigation resistant so it can endure up to 6 inches of rain and excessive watering for up to 14 days. Product may be applied as a soil surface treatment outdoor: in your garden, yard, and vegetable gardens. 1/4 lb. treats up to 1,000 sq. ft. Available in 25 lb. bag.
Do not allow product to come in contact with plants.
For best results, apply in evening following rain or watering.
Keep people and pets out of the areas during application. This pesticide may be harmful to children and fatal to dogs and other domestic animals if ingested. Children and dogs may be attracted to metaldehyde products, both in the package and when applied. Children and domestic animals must be kept out of treated areas from the start of application until the applied product is no longer visible.
Application of this metaldehyde product is prohibited unless children and domestic animals can be excluded from the treated areas from the start of application until the applied product is no longer visible.
Application to turf and dichondra are prohibited. Application is permitted only to non-turf areas (i.e., on soil or mulch) directly surrounding plants listed on the label.
Broadcast and foliar applications of this product are prohibited. Application is permitted only as a barrier around gardens or individual plants. Application is prohibited within one foot of vegetable plants or fruit bearing plants not listed on this label.
Do not reuse measuring utensils for food use.
Do not allow the product to form piles during application as these may attract pets.
Certain cultural practices may reduce damage from snails and slugs. These practices include:
Eliminating hiding places by removing leaf litter and debris in the garden;
Removing slugs and snails during daylight hours from nearby leaf litter, mulch, and other protected areas;
Watering in the morning to reduce humidity during the night when snails and slugs are active.
Apply as an outdoor soil surface treatment. For best results, evenly distribute in a 1 ft. wide area.
Apply this product in areas likely to be infested at the beginning of the spring planting season before damage occurs and during periods of damp weather. The maximum number of applications allowed per season are listed below with each crop. For best results, apply in evening. Especially beneficial if applied following rain or watering since slugs and snails will not crawl over dry soil.
For extremely tender plants it is suggested to do a small test application to determine any plant sensitivity before making an application around the plants.
