    Q
CanIi spray Demand Cs when the weather is yucky and rain off and on?
if i spray DemandCS just before it rains will the rain wash the chemicals off ?
    A
You should wait to apply Demand CS on a day when rain is not expected. The product cannot adhere to wet surfaces and rain would wash it away if the application had not had a chance to dry before the rain came.

    Q
When spraying a tree for elm beetles that is next to my pond do I need to worry about the over spray?
When spraying a tree for elm beetles that is next to my pond do I need to worry about the over spray of Demand CS hurting my fish?
    A
Yes, Demand CS like any other insecticide can be very lethal to fish.  It would be advised to apply the product on a day that is not windy, and possibly even holding up a sheet of plastic on the other side of where you are spraying to protect overspray from going towards the pond.  Also, apply on a day when it is not going to rain so the product has time to dry and bond to its surface so it does not run off.

    Q
How do I know when the time is right for the first application of Demand CS?
Is there a general date or average temperature? I live in South Dakota.
    A

There really is not a specific date or temperature (as long as it is above freezing) to apply Demand CS.  It can be applied any time the pest(s) you are treating for are active.  If you are treating outdoors, you will need to apply every 30-90 days, and every 90 days indoors.

    Q
How do I kill grasshoppers and not bees and butterflies and my outside cats?
I use the nolo bait in most of my yard and I have chickens to get the stragglers. but I have part of my yard fenced off to keep the chickens out of my flowers and it is being over run by adult grasshoppers. I do the catch and kill every nite, but not enough as it sounds like bb's hitting the house when I walk around it. I have outside kitties and butterflys and bees that I don't want to harm what would you suggest? I need help fast. I have open fields on all 4 sides of me so it is a neverending battle
    A

If it's the area that's fenced off, you can spray Demand CS around the yard and flowers but avoid the blooms or areas where bees and butterflies land so it won't be harmful to them.

    Q
Does Demand CS work to treat Pine Bark Beetle?
I have been trying very hard to spot the actual beetles but have not seen any. I do however, see a bald patch of trunk on my black pine with what looks to be 3 woodpecker holes. Some branches have all brown needles. In cypress trees nearby, I see trails of yellow sap seeping out and some branches there already turned brown. I'm so so sad as this black pine is a very fancy Japanese bonsai style tree and I might have lost a few small trunks with the brown needles.
    A

An insecticide such as Demand CS can be used to prevent infestations of bark beetles such as pine bark beetles, however usually this treatment is not effective once trees are already infested. You want to spray down the trunks of nearby trees to protect them from infestation. You may need to consult a local arborist if you are unsure whether the trees can be saved. You can usually trim and destroy infested branches, however keep in mind that this pest will usually infest trees that are already weak from some other existing issue (disease, drought, etc.).

  • Asked by Joaquin from Miami, Florida

    Q
Can you apply Demand SC directly to a bed (mattress) where humans sleep?
Friend has fleas/ticks in her house she wants to know if it's safe to apply it to her bed because she sleeps with her dog.
    A

No, Demand CS  is NOT labeled for applications to mattresses where humans sleep directly for your safety. NyGuard Plus is labeled for ticks and fleas and it can be applied to the mattress. Spray only surfaces that cannot be laundered or dry-cleaned including mattresses and upholstered furniture. Apply on mattresses as a spot treatment to mattress seams, edges, buttons, and tufts of bed only. Do not use directly on pillows, bed linens, or cloths. Do not saturate the mattress and do not treat entire surface area of the mattress. Allow mattress to dry thoroughly before replacing pillows and/or bed linens. You will wash and dry linens in heat to eradicate any present fleas or ticks and allow the product to completely dry prior to making the bed. Please take a few moments to review our How to Get Rid of Fleas and How to Get Rid of Ticks articles for more detailed information.

  • Asked by Ben

    Q
How good is Demand CS for spiders indoors?
    A

Demand CS would be a great choice for spider control as well as general insect control. It is a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. Spraying Demand CS will also help to get rid of the other insects (silverfish, sow bugs aka rollie pollies and millipedes) that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving inside. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.

    Q
If a bird eats a dead roach sprayed the night before with Demand CS, will it harm the bird?
Sprayed yard around 10pm, next morning there was a staggering amount of dead or dying roaches all over. Came home from work around 5pm and 95% of the carcasses were gone. As I sat there bewildered a little bird landed no more then 5ft. from me, grabbed a dead roach and flew away. So please tell me this will not hurt the birds! Thanks for your time! I forgot to mention
    A

There is such a small amount of the active ingredient in Demand CS that actually gets on the bugs before they die that it will not affect any animals that consume the dead bugs
