    Q
    Bedbugs?
How long will it take to get rid of bedbugs? I live in a trailer that I think had them before I moved in and they come back every time I get rid of them and they aren't being brought in. I think they are in the walls
    A
How fast Demand CS kills bedbugs depends on a few factors, it can take a few hours up to 24 hours or more based on how soon after application they contact a treated area, how long they spend on the treated area as well as the age/health of the insect.  Sprays alone are not enough to eliminate bedbugs though as you cannot use in all areas you need to treat.

Best option for bed bugs is our bed bug kit, which comes with the best products out right now that should be used by a professional company that knows what they are doing. All of our kits come with full instructions on how and where to apply each product in the kit. The kits have a high success rate when used as directed. We also have lots of treatment information on our website.

Here is a link to the bed bug kits. They are priced and sized based on how many rooms you are treating:

All kits come with our Bed Bug Guide (pdf) with step by step instructions. Follow the directions concentrating in all cracks and crevices.  We also have Bed Bug Control articles that can help as well

    Q
Pull behind sprayer PSI settings using Demand CS?
I have a 20 gallon pull behind sprayer I would like to use. I can set the PSI on the pump. What PSI should this be sprayed at? Also, at what size tank is a buffer needed? I plan on spraying most of our 1 acre property including areas we have shrubs and paying special attention to my children's pool (covered) and playset as well as our patio.
    A

Demand CS can be applied with the use of a "coarse, low-pressure spray," according to the product label. This would allow you to control the application so there is no runoff, pooling, dripping, etc. Depending on how far you need the spray to reach you can set it from 40 up to 150 PSI.

    Q
    Demand CS alternatives.
Label says to NOT use Demand all the time but instead try another product so bugs do not adapt to it. My #1 targeted pest is ants but spider #2 and then all the rest. What do you suggest? I use this outside and inside the house I have some FASTCAP on hand that I bought fo a different house where spiders were #1, 2, and 3 problem. Thanks!
    A

Onslaught Fast Cap would be a great alternative to rotate treatments with Demand CS

    Q
If a bird eats a dead roach sprayed the night before with Demand CS, will it harm the bird?
Sprayed yard around 10pm, next morning there was a staggering amount of dead or dying roaches all over. Came home from work around 5pm and 95% of the carcasses were gone. As I sat there bewildered a little bird landed no more then 5ft. from me, grabbed a dead roach and flew away. So please tell me this will not hurt the birds! Thanks for your time! I forgot to mention
    A

There is such a small amount of the active ingredient in Demand CS that actually gets on the bugs before they die that it will not affect any animals that consume the dead bugs

    Q
How long does it take for Demand CS to kill carpenter bees?
It says this is good for removing carpenter bees. How long does it take after contact to kill a carpenter bee?
    A

When using Demand CS it can take minutes to hours to kill carpenter bees. The active ingredient needs time to work through the follicle of the insect to the central nervous system. You can spray surfaces they would land on to help prevent new holes, and treat inside existing holes for larvae with dusts like Delta Dust. You can also review the bet methods for treating carpenter bees in our Carpenter Bee Control Guide

    Q
How do I safely and effectively clean Demand CS from my kitchen?
Demand CS was sprayed on my kitchen and bathroom floors. How can effectively and safely clean it so that there is no residue left? Also, if I clean my clothes, will the chemical still be in my washing and drying machines?
    A

Demand CS should not be applied to entire kitchen or bathroom floors, so we are not completely sure what type of cleaning can be done to keep the product from leaving behind a residual after it has already dried. You can try cleaning the floors with warm soap and water but again, we cannot guarantee this will work. If you would like a clear answer, we recommend contacting the manufacturer, Syngenta at (1-866-796-4368).

    Q
When applying Demand CS, what pressure should be at the hose end of a skid rig?
    A

Demand CS can be applied with the use of a "coarse, low-pressure spray," according to the product label. This would allow you to control the application so there is no runoff, pooling, dripping, etc. Most smaller volume sprayers will have up to about 40 PSI, so you usually would not use much more than that.

    Q
Are you able to mix Demand CS and Mosquito Barrier together for a yard barrier spray?
Wondering if they are compatible. The goal is to use the repellency of the garlic with the residual of the Demand CS for dual action. Or if EcoVia EC or Essentria IC3 could be mixed as well with Demand CS? I also have Archer IGR on hand.
    A

Mixing Demand CS with Mosquito Barrier would not be beneficial. You want the mosquitoes to land on the Demand and pick up what is there. If you were to mix the two, the Mosquito Barrier would act as a barrier and would prevent the insects from landing where you have sprayed the Demand CS. You can mix Archer IGR with Demand CS or with EcoVia EC or Essentria IC3. You could also mix a low rate of the EcoVia or Essentria with Demand CS for faster initial knockdown.

    Q
Does Demand CS work to treat Pine Bark Beetle?
I have been trying very hard to spot the actual beetles but have not seen any. I do however, see a bald patch of trunk on my black pine with what looks to be 3 woodpecker holes. Some branches have all brown needles. In cypress trees nearby, I see trails of yellow sap seeping out and some branches there already turned brown. I'm so so sad as this black pine is a very fancy Japanese bonsai style tree and I might have lost a few small trunks with the brown needles.
    A

An insecticide such as Demand CS can be used to prevent infestations of bark beetles such as pine bark beetles, however usually this treatment is not effective once trees are already infested. You want to spray down the trunks of nearby trees to protect them from infestation. You may need to consult a local arborist if you are unsure whether the trees can be saved. You can usually trim and destroy infested branches, however keep in mind that this pest will usually infest trees that are already weak from some other existing issue (disease, drought, etc.).

    Q
Can Demand CS be used for Fungus Gnats? And if so, how?
    A

Demand CS is not labeled for fungus gnats.  Fungus gnats are present due to overwatering of the plants, so by allowing the soil to properly drain and dry completely, the fungus gnats will eventually die out.  You may consider using a systemic insecticide such as Bonide Systemic Granules incorporated into the soil of containerized plants to target the fungus gnat larvae.  You can also apply a residual insecticide spray such as Talstar P over the top of the soil of infested plants.

    Q
Can this be sprayed on a pasture where horses are grazing?
    A
The Demand CS is not labeled to be used where animals graze and would not be recommended in this area.  The only insecticide product we carry that would be safe is the Essentria All Purpose

    Q
Is Demand CS labeled for mites?
    A

Demand CS is labeled for certain mites in general across a lawn only.

Here is our best advice on mite control:

It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with mites. Have the suspected mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for mites.  If you do indeed have mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead rodent on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use Cimexa Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust.Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs. We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

    Q
What's the difference between Temprid FX and Demand CS?
    A

Temprid FX combines the fast-acting power of beta-cyfluthrin 10.5% and the transferal power of imidacloprid 21% (two powerful active ingredients). Demand CS containing lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.7% is a product that has micro-encapsulated technology, which means it leaves thousands of micro particles that bind to the surface offering long-term protection and fast insect knock-down. Both of these great insecticides can be used on a large variety of insects in many settings.
