    Q
Is Demand G Granules helpful in eliminating a springtail infestation?
I have springtails nesting in the yard around the house and in the dry months they enter the house through an upstairs bathroom.
    A

Yes, Demand G Granules will be very helpful in getting rid of a springtail infestation. First and foremost we recommend addressing any moisture issues in and around your home as springtails tend to nest in areas where there is excess moisture. In conjunction with Demand G, it would be a good idea to use Bifen IT as an indoor crack and crevice treatment and a barrier treatment around the foundation of your home.

    Q
What can I use to make my lawn less attractive to moles?
I want to use a granular treatment around the perimeter of my house to prevent a wide variety of insects and make that area less attractive to moles. What do you recommend? I live in central Illinois, close to a wooded area. I have used Talprid for mole invasions. I also have perimeter plastic monitoring stations with wood in them. I have used Bifen IT &LP in spring and fall, but feel there may be some more effective chemicals.
    A
While Bifen LP and Bifen IT are great products they are not labeled for grubs, a favorite food source for moles. We recommend trying Demand G granules. Demand G is labeled for over 30 soil dwelling insects that moles love to feed on.  Demand G works great for whole lawn treatments, perimeter applications and spot applications.

Can Demand G Granules be used on these?
    A
Demand G Granules can be applied to ground covers. The idea is that you are treating and making contact with the springtails where ever they may be. If they are under the ground cover, you  may want to take the ground cover up and an apply.

    Q
    What setting should I use for 3# /1000SF w/ Scott's rotary spreader?
    A

We don't have the exact spreader setting for your model spreader. The easiest way to determine the correct setting for your needs is outlined below:

If you need to use 3lbs of product per 1,000 sq ft you would  add 3 lb of product to spreader, start with a medium setting, then apply product to a 20 x 50 ft area (1,000 sq ft).  If you have product left, your setting is too low.  If you run out of product, your setting is too high.  Typically if you walk at a normal pace and set the spreader at the middle setting, that is usually the right amount per 1000 square feet. If you only have a few settings, then it is best to start lower and then you can easily increase as needed.

    Q
Can Demand G granules be applied when it is raining?
    A

It is not recommended to apply Demand G Granules in the rain.  The granules do need to be watered in after application, so you can apply right before it is going to rain so that the rain will activate the product instead of it being watered in by hand.

    Q
What can I use to get springtails out of the pool?
My pool is infested with springtails is there anything I can use to kill them off
    A

Springtails are attracted to the pool for the moisture and there is not anything we carry that can be used in the pool for them.  You can use Demand granules or Deltagard granules around the perimeter of your pool to help eliminate this pest before they make into the water. You can spread the granules in a 5 ft - 10 ft band in the soil/grass around the pool. You want will want to use 2-3 lbs per 1,000 sq ft  for best results.  Springtails can be hard to control because they reproduce very quickly, and they thrive in damp, humid areas. You should remove as much mulch, leaf debris and other yard debris as possible to help eliminate harborage areas in your yard.

    Q
How safe is Demand G to my pets if after its dried we get rain? Should i keep my dog out until its dry again?
I understand that it is pet safe when the label instructions are followed. Once I have applied Demand G, wet it, and it has dried, will subsequent re-wetting (rain) again make the area unsafe for my dog until it dries again? and, will significant amounts of rain reduce the life or effectiveness of the product?
    A

Once the Demand G has been watered in and dried it will not be reactivated by rain or irrigation to make it unsafe for your pets to be in the lawn. While large amounts of rain can certainly reduce the length of time the Demand lasts outdoors, average rain and irrigation it is designed to hold up to.

    Q
Can I use Demand G Granules and Bifen IT over it on a lawn?
Or would another liquid be better to be able to spray over it? I have been using Bifen granules and spray Bifen IT but thought about trying Demand G.
    A

It is not necessary to use Demand G granules and Bifen IT in the same area. Essentially, that is doubling up the same product. Demand G granules will last approximately 2-3 months in the soil. It does need to be watered in after it has been applied as well.

    Q
Will Demand G help rid us of springtails?
If we use demand G along with with Suspend poly mixed with ExcitR for a springtails infestation around the entire home. They are getting in through windows how long should it take to see a longer term reduction? When should we reapply if it does not work?
    A

Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job.Using products such as Demand G Granules,  Suspend Polyzone and ExciteR  can help you to reduce the numbers of springtails until the mositure problem is fixed.

    Q
Is Demand G Granules a good product for ant control in the yard?
What's more effective and economical a spreader application or Tempo? Large area.
    A
Depending on how much area you are treating, we would recommend using a liquid or a granule application. A good granule product is Demand G granules. This will be broadcast across the lawn and water them in. One bag will treat approximately 8,000 sq. ft.

    Q
Does Demand G Granules eradicate roaches?
    A

Yes, Demand G Granules will help to eradicate roaches. Outdoor roach control can be tough because the moist conditions in your yard will always attract more roaches from surrounding areas. You can apply a granular insecticide like this one to help limit the number of roaches in the yard.

    Q
Use of this product near / around my garden.
This looks like the product to solve all my problems. Specifically, we battle ants, European crane flies, and springtails. Our garden and produce starts where our lawn stops. Is this safe to use in and around our garden? If it is not garden safe, how close is reasonable to get to the garden with this product? Would you recommend a different product? Thank you.
    A
Demand G Granules can be used in your lawn and garden. However, if your garden has edibles, Demand Granules should NOT be applied to it. The product can be used outside of the drip line. We would recommend not using Demand G within 2-3 feet of your edibles if you have them. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Demand G Granules are labeled for mites and fleas so this would be a great option for your yard. Keep in mind that you may need to use an IGR like NyGuard IGR across the lawn as well to stop the reproductive cycle of the fleas.

    Q
Bifenthrin or Demand G for Spider Control in Lawn?
Would you recommend Bifenthrin or Demand G (or other) for long-term control of spiders in one's lawn, esp. near the house?
    A

Nether, Bifenthrin granules or Demand  G are labeled for Spiders. We do not recommend using either for spider control. Better you can use a product like Onslaught and broadcast spray over lawn. Be sure to focus on shady cool areas as well. Onslaught will give you up to 2 months control.

    Q
How often can Demand G Granules be applied?
I'm dealing with a Springtail problem and have been using Demand G to help treat it. While it has helped, I'm still seeing a decent amount of them. How frequently can I re-apply the granules? Ideally I'd like to do a general lawn treatment once a month from April-August and then perhaps do perimeter treatments on a slightly more frequent basis (every 2 weeks). Is that acceptable, or too much?
    A

Demand G works through a slow-release process, providing continuous control over a period of 4 to 8 weeks. The key to eliminating a springtail population is correcting the moisture issue in or around the home as well as using insecticide products. Please take a look at our guide on How to Get Rid of Springtails for detailed information on treatment.
