Demon will last up to 30 days on outside surfaces depending on the rain and sun exposure but is not actually labeled for grasshoppers.
Talstar P would be a good choice for grasshopper control and will last up to 30 days as well. You should start applications before the grasshoppers have a chance to hatch for best control. You should thoroughly spray your lawn and water in the application with about a .25 in of water to help the product get past the thatch layer and into the soil where grass hoppers actually develop. If you already have grasshoppers you can use Talstar P at the highest usage rate of 1 oz of product per 1 gallon of water for the quickest knockdown. Use sufficient amounts of water to help the product get to the soil layers.
Demon Max is labeled for termites but for a longer protection and control, you should apply a non-repellent liquid concentrate such as Termidor SC, Taurus SC or Dominion 2L. Below I have included a termite treatment article that will be very helpful if you plan to treat them yourself.
The treated areas should be cleaned prior to application of Demon Max. It is recommended that you treat indoor cracks and crevices including the baseboards, behind the refrigerator etc. We do NOT recommend applying to the counter tops or prep surface areas with the product. Those areas should be cleaned with regular household products not insecticides. We recommend that you clean out cabinets and drawers and apply a professional roach bait gel to the crevices. Demon Max is not to be applied on surfaces that come in contact with the skin or on the surface area of the couch. Please contact the manufacturer for instructions on the treatment/cleaning of the couch. They can be reached at 866.796.4368.
We recommend the following for treatment of ticks:
Make sure the property around your home is unattractive to ticks. Because ticks are sensitive to dry conditions and do not thrive in short vegetation, they are seldom a problem in well-maintained lawns. Keep your grass mowed and keep weeds cut. Clean up items that attract rodents which can carry ticks, such as spilled birdseed, and hiding places like old wood piles. If ticks are present in vegetation along the edge of the property, insecticides labeled for control of ticks can be applied to small areas of high weeds that cannot be mowed. Often, one or two applications per season will be adequate to control ticks in these areas.
Free-roaming dogs and cats are much more likely to encounter ticks than those that are confined to the home or yard. If ticks are found on pets, contact your veterinarian for information about an appropriate tick treatment. Remove the occasional tick found indoors by vacuuming, seal the vacuum bag and place it in the trash. Owners of kennels or homes infested with the brown dog tick may wish to contact a professional pest control company for assistance.
