Dismiss Turf is meant more for nutsedge control in turf grass and it CANNOT be used in or near a vegetable garden or anything edible. The main product used for weeds in a vegetable garden is a RoundUp type product, like our RoundUp QuickPro product. RoundUp Professional products do not leave a residual in the soil that could possibly be soaked up by the roots of your garden. Of course you do not want to get the RoundUp on any plants you want to keep. You should only direct it at the weeds you want to eliminate.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide is labeled to be applied to established Centipede and St. Augustine lawns. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide does state on the product label that it is believed to be compatible with most herbicides commonly used in turf and ornamental plant management. However, when preparing a new tank mix conduct an appropriate compatibility test by following the instructions on the label. Though the SpeedZone Southern product label states: Do not use tank mixture combinations, unless your experience indicates that the tank mixture will not result in turf injury.

Dismiss Turf? is absorbed through the foliage and into the root system. It will kill the root of Star of Bethlehem. According to the Dismiss Turf product label, you can reapply the Dismiss 35 days after the first application to ensure no harm to your lawn and acheive better control of the hearty weeds in the lawn. However, you want to be sure that you are applying your products at the optimal time for the weeds you are targeting. If not, the product will only supress the Star of Bethlehem and not get rid of it entirely.

Kyllinga is just a type of sedge. Dismiss Turf Herbicide would be a great option for either.
You could potentially apply Dismiss Turf Herbicide with a pre-emergent herbicide as long as neither label prohibits such use and both can be used in the same areas. However, you want to be sure that you are applying your products at the optimal time for the weeds you are targeting. Pre-emergents must be applied before weeds germinate, which is usually when soil temperatures are between 50-55 degrees. Post-emergent herbicides will be most effective when target weeds are young and actively growing; for most herbicides this is in the range of 60-85 degrees. Be sure to calibrate products properly, and if you are mixing two products that have not previously been verified to work together, it is best to do a small jar test for compatability first.
Dismiss Herbicide should not turn your centipedegrass turf yellow. It is safe for use on this turf type.
Per the Dismiss Turf product label: Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within one (1) month after application of this product could inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses. Overseeding of bermudagrass with perennial ryegrass at two (2) to four (4) weeks after an application can be done if slight injury to perennial ryegrass can be tolerated.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide is not labeled for ornamental beds because it could potentially damage the desirable plants. We recommend using something like Grass Out Max. This product is labeled for use in Ornamental Beds.
