    Q
How large of an area will one gallon of Essentria IC3 treat?
    A

It depends on what you are treating for and how bad the problem is, but you typically mix 1 to 10 ounces per gallon of water depending on severity of the problem, and each gallon of Essentria IC3 will treat 500 to 1000 sq ft.  If we average this out, then a gallon of product can treat between 10,000 - 25,000 sq ft.  For specific instructions, please read the Essentria IC3 product label.

    Q
Can I spray Essentria IC3 on avocado trees to eradicate mites? We want to sell the fruit.
    A
Essentria IC3 cannot be applied to fruit or vegetables directly, especially ones that will be harvested for human consumption.  However, we do have a product made specifically for food bearing trees which is called Malathion 57%.  It can be applied right to the food on the tree,  For each plant type there is a cut off time before harvesting, which is usually 7 days.  Here is a link to the product label

    Q
It's getting cold outside (northern MN) - will Essentria IC3 still be effective in the house at this time?
I've got what I believe are cluster flies in every window well and buzzing around every window in my house. Would it be best to spray or fog?
    A

Unfortunately, you are past the time to treat your home for cluster flies.  Cluster flies enter your home in the late fall, early winter, usually around late September/early October.  The flies enter through cracks around windows and doors and under siding.  As the weather warms up or as your heat kicks on, the flys will emerge. Most will go outside but some will be confused and end up in the house.  Next year, you should treat the outside of your home earlier in the year to prevent entry.  For now, you can spray the inside of the home to help kill flys that are still in the wall.  If you spray baseboards, window sills, etc you will kill the flies as they come out.  As far as the flies that are in the house already, I would suggest our CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrin.  It should kill any that are flying around in the room you set the bomb off in.  Be sure to read all directions and vacate the property for a few hours after setting it off.

    Q
Can I apply chemical-free, natural pest control products in Texas?
I am starting a chemical free pest control business in Texas and plan on using only green products. I can find no information with the EPA, OSHA or Department of Agriculture for commercially spraying these type products. Is it legal to apply this for profit with only a business license and no applicator license. Thanks
    A
We are only allowed to sell professional products to homeowners that are using them on their own home and property.  Once you start applying product to other peoples property for profit, you must be licensed by your states governing department over pest control companies.  We do not endorse or recommend that any individual apply products for profit without being licensed by your state.  You could face massive fines and jail time.  You should check with your states governing body for license requirements.

    Q
Are Essentria products safe around pregnancy?
    A
Yes, Essentria products are the safest professional products available.  They are made from plant oil extracts and contain no man made chemicals.  This being said, as when applying any insecticide, you should follow the label, only treat in approved areas, and have others leave the treatment area while you are treating.  After the spray dries, which usually only takes about 30 minutes, it is perfectly safe to have children, pets, and pregnant woman back in the area.

Is Essentria IC3 effective against German roaches?
    A
Essentria IC3 Insecticide is labeled for roaches and should do a great job for you as part of your roach control program. We recommend you also include a high quality roach bait gel and an insect growth regulator along with the Essentria IC3 Insecticide to get complete control of German roaches. All three components along with good sanitation will be needed to eliminate German roaches from a structure.

    Q
Does Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate work on Brown Recluse spiders?
    A
Essentria IC3 will eliminate any type of spider (excluding tarantulas) that comes into contact with treated areas. Even though Brown Recluse spiders are very scary to have in your house they are no harder to get rid of than any other spider. The hardest part of getting rid of the brown recluse is finding them since they like to remain hidden. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure. Essentria IC3 will also help to get rid of other insects which in effect remove the spiders' food source and help make your property less favorable to them in the future.

    Q
Will Essentria IC3 kill Argentine Ants?
The manufacturer of IC3 returned my call but did not answer my question: does this product kill Argentine ants? It lists "ants" but doesn't say which kind. Can you just find out and answer my email?
    A
Essentria IC3 can eliminate any type of ant (including Argentine Ants) that crosses over treated areas. You should note that the product will not be carried back to the colony and transferred to other ants, only the ants that actually come in contact with treated areas will be eliminated. We do carry Termidor SC and Phantom which both work with a transfer effect and are labeled for most types of ants. If you would prefer to stick to all natural products you should consider using a combination of ant baits such as the Gourmet Ant Bait Gel and the Intice Fine Bait Granules. Baits will be picked up by the foraging ants and carried back to the colony. After the infestation is gone you can follow up with the Essentria IC3 as a barrier spray around the exterior of your home to stop new ants from moving in.

what is the typical residual for this when spraying for mosquitoes, and does the company guarantee the product will not kill fish?
    A
Essentria IC should be reapplied every 2-4 weeks for mosquito control outdoors. Envincio, the Essentria IC3 manufacturer, does say that Essentria IC3 is non-toxic for aquatic life including fish when used as directed on the product label.

    Q
Is Essentria IC3 effective against ticks
Does it kill and repel ticks?
    A
Essentria IC3 is labeled for ticks and should do a great job helping to control them on your property. Do not make spot applications. Treat the entire area where exposure to ticks may occur. Use more water (not more product) when treating areas with dense ground cover or heavy leaf litter. Ticks may be reintroduced from surrounding areas on host animals. Retreatment may be necessary to achieve and/or maintain control during periods of high pest pressure. All of your pets should be treated with a product that is specifically labeled for use on dogs for tick control.

You can also help by creating a "tick safe zone" in your yard. You should have an area that is at least 9 ft wide between your yard and any wooded area. Trim back trees to allow as much sunlight as possible into your yard. Keep grass as short as possible. Remove as much leaf litter as possible. A clearly defined, well manicured border between your yard and any wooded areas or weedy lots will reduce the chance of ticks infesting your yard.

Does Essentria IC3 kill honey bees?
I have bee hives on my property. Will this product kill the bees? Thanks, John
    A
Essentria IC3, like most insecticides, even natural ones, will kill bees if they land on a treated surface.  You should not apply this product or any other type of product intended to kill insects on any flowering plants that the bees may land on.

    Q
    Longevity/residual
For an exterior structural application for spider's, paper wasps, etc., what's the residual longevity of the product?
    A
Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate can be expected to last about 6 weeks around a structure.  Longevity depends on exposure to sunlight mainly.  Areas not in direct view of the sun can last longer.  Areas exposed to sunlight for much of the day can be much less.  UV light is the most degrading factor to residual longevity.

Will Essentria IC3 damage or discolor the baseboards in my home?
    A
Essentria IC3 has been tested on many surfaces and does not usually discolor stain surfaces. We still recommend that you test the product for discoloration or staining on a small inconspicuous area before spraying all baseboards as of course not all surfaces have been tested.

    Q
Essentria IC3 for marina and boat spider/wasp control
We have a boat that's stored under a cloth cover on the water in an open but covered marina. We have a terrible problem with wasps and spiders infesting the boat and the marina roof above it. I'd like a product that I can apply no more than once per month to the underside of the roof and around the boat and cover that will kill the bugs and prevent them from coming back. The product would need to be safe for children on the boat and for fish since we'd inevitably get some overspray into the lake while spraying around the boat and marina. Is Essentria the right product for this, or can you recommend another one? Also, I've heard that these insecticides are safe around children "after they've dried." If we apply it to the inside of the boat and then let it dry, it will be re-wetted as water splashes back on the boat and wet kids crawl around on it. Will re-wetting the product make it toxic to humans again?
    A
Essentria IC3 is the right product for you! Essentria IC3 is safe to use around your family and also around aquatic life and it will work great for wasps and spiders. Essentria does not repel insects but rather eliminates them once they land on treated surfaces. Once Essentria IC3 has dried after the application it will not reconstitute so there is no worry that a child may be harmed if touching a surface that has been treated, dried and now has been gotten water on it.

    Q
Which products will work for spiders on my boat dock?
How often would need to spray on this metal dock and wooden walkways ?
    A
The most popular spider control product for use around water is Essentria IC3. This is the most popular choice because it effective for spiders, kills most other insects (eliminating the spiders prey which will help keep new spiders from moving back into the area) and it safe to use around water. Most other insecticides are prohibited near the water because of the risk of contaminating the water and harming aquatic animals. You will need to repeat the application once a month through the warm season.
