    Is Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate safe for use on fruit trees before fruit appears?
    A

    Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate  cannot be applied to fruit or vegetables directly, especially ones that will be harvested for human consumption.  However, we do have a product made specifically for food bearing trees which is called Malathion 57%. It can be applied right to the food on the tree,  For each plant type there is a cut off time before harvesting, which is usually 7 days.  Here is a link to the product label.

    I have a Stihl SR430 backpack blower and was wondering the knob settings (1.0,1.8, 2.3) w/ Essentria and ratio?
    Which knob setting should I use and water to oz. ratio... settings (1.0, 1.8, or 2.3) on a pressure pump metering knob .....Thanks

    I am looking for something a little more potent than Essentria IC3

    Around boat houses and docks you are limited to the natural products like Essentria IC3 or EcoVia as they are non toxic to aquatic life.

    The roof is 20ft off of the deck.

    Yes, you can use Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate  You will use 2-8 oz. per gallon of water and apply at the rate of 2 gallons per 1000 sq. ft.

    Can Essentria IC 3 be used in the Burgess 960 Electric fogger for outdoors?

    Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate can be used in thermal or ULV foggers for indoor applications only.  EcoVia EC is a similar product that is labeled for outdoor fogging applications.

    Will Essentria IC treat booklice and springtails?
    A

    Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate is not labeled for springtails. If you are wanting to use a natural product for springtail elimination, EcoVia EC is a great option. Please take a look at our Springtail Control Guide for helpful tips regarding springtail control. 

    The best way to control booklice is by lowering the humidity in the infested areas which in turn will help eliminate the mold and fungus these insects need to survive. Infested furniture and carpeting should be thoroughly steam cleaned and vacuumed. You can spray your furniture with Sterifab to get rid of any lingering insects. You cannot spray anything on books so for those we recommend you find a way to heat treat them with a device like the Packtite or you can seal them loosely into bins with Nuvan Prostrips.

    What can I use to treat fire ants near a fish pond?
    1/2 acre pond stocked with catfish. Deer and birds drink from pond. What can you suggest to treat the fire ants.

    You could use a natural product such as Essentria IC3 for fire ant mound treatments. This product is safe to use around aquatic life and other wildlife, although we still would not recommend spraying directly on top of or into the pond. Please refer to page 3 of the product label for instructions on treating fire ants with IC3.

    What can we use to kill spiders on my boat dock?
    We want an environmentally friendly way of killing the spider population on our boat dock. We don't want to use anything that can harm the Lake water and wildlife.

    The most popular spider control product for use around water is Essentria IC3, because it is effective for spiders, kills most other insects (eliminating the spider's prey which will help keep new spiders from moving back into the area) and it safe to use around water. Most other insecticides are prohibited near the water because of the risk of contaminating the water and harming aquatic animals. You will need to repeat the application once a month through the warm season.

    Essentria IC3 has a shelf life of about 3-5 years in the original bottle.   It should be kept out of extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

    If using Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate in kitchen cabinets, how should we clean them before putting food or dishes back in?
    What kinds of cleaners would be best?
    A

    We would recommend applying Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate to the cracks and crevices and where the floor meets the wall or cabinets. You can use any household cleaner/soap for your cabinets and place your dishes back inside. We would avoid spraying inside the cabinets. What insect are you targeting? Many folks treating for ant/roaches in the kitchen will use baits in the cabinets that will not harm the items inside and is safer.

    Does Essentria IC3 have a smell?
    A

    Essentria IC3 has a rather strong odor. It consists of multiple essential oils, including peppermint which give it a pleasant mint smell when applied. You may want to check out Evergreen Pyrethrum Concentrate. It is a natural product with very little smell that the SDS lists as “sweet surfactant odor.”

    Will Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate kill tick eggs or just the tick itself?

    Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate will only kill the young that hatch from eggs and the older stages that crawl across a treated surface or are sprayed directly.  It will not kill any eggs.

    What's a good, affordable oil to mix with Essentria IC3 insecticide concentrate?
    I'm just trying to save a little money since most concentrates are expensive. I'm wondering what more affordable oil I can use with this product.

    When used in thermal fogging applications, Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate can be mixed with mineral oil.  When applying through a hand pump or backpack sprayer, it should be diluted into water.
