Etofenprox is a synthetic pyrethroid, and will last longer than a naturally derived product.
It is used as an active ingredient in a variety of pest control applications, including flying and crawling insects, a group of pesticides widely used in pest control for a variety of crawling and flying insect pests. While this is a lesser-known and lesser-used pyrethroid, it behaves similarly to all other pyrethroids.
An excellent aerosol insecticide that controls fleas and other pests and features a combination chemistry of two adulticides and an IGR.
Applications: Etofenprox can be found in aerosols for crack and crevice treatments or for flying insects, and also in a concentrate for broad-spectrum control. It can be used indoors and out, and you will also commonly find this active ingredient in flea and tick products for dogs and cats.
Mode of Action: Etofenprox works by contact or ingestion, and acts as a nerve toxin. In this case, it causes paralysis to the target insect. Since the insect becomes paralyzed it cannot eat or move, so it will eventually die.
Toxicity: While it is safe to people and vertebrates, it is highly toxic to fish, most invertebrates, and beneficial insects like bees, just like most pyrethroids. With prolonged exposure, it can cause skin irritation.
Etofenprox is a common active ingredient used in flea and tick control products, especially those for cats. Etofenprox is one of the only pyrethroids safe to use on cats.
