Types and Uses of Fencing

  • One of the most popular uses of this style of fencing material is for deer exclusion. Deer barrier fencing will help to protect young trees and other plants from deer damage. The Tenax Deer Fence C Flex HD Pro is virtually invisible, making it a great fencing option to maintain the look of your property without breaking it up with a fence.
  • Roll fences can also be great solutions to create pet barriers to keep your pets in a safe zone and protected from other animals in your area. The Tenax Pet Fence can be used for dog runs and other temporary enclosure areas, and even for training purposes.
  • Construction areas around your home or property can often benefit from a fence, to keep people safe, to keep intruders out, and to alert people to a construction area. This type of fence is perfect for this use, since the very nature of construction is temporary.
  • These fences can be used for different animals, not just deer. They are especially useful when repellent products, electrified fences, and other methods have failed to reduce animal pest damage.
  • You can even use fencing to support plants in flowerbeds, container gardens and even planters.

How To Use Fencing

Although a roll mesh fence is generally an easy set up, it does still take certain tools and steps to create a strong barrier. Here are a few tips to make sure you’re prepared and ready to set up your fencing solution.

  • Before you begin to set up your fence, you’ll need to make sure you have all the proper materials. To properly set up a roll fence, you’ll need posts, nylon string, zip ties, scissors, a hammer, sod staples, tent-style stakes, and tie wire. To start you off right, try the Tenax Deer Fence Kit, which includes sod staples, ties, and poles, along with the fence.
  • Determining fence placement, planning out all posts and gates, and properly supporting and reinforcing your fence are all important points to plan out before setting up your fence, so it can be as sturdy as possible.
  • Generally, placing posts every ten feet and securing the fence to the post with zip ties every foot up the post, and using sod staples along the bottom of the fence every five feet is a good place to start when setting up your fence.
  • When using fence as a deer barrier, the height of the fence is very important. Deer can jump up to eight feet vertically, so the fence should be at least that high. A slanted fence should extend six feet at a 45-degree angle. Since these fences allow for maximum visibility, hanging streamers every few feet on the fence will help the deer see the fence (they have very poor eyesight) and will prevent the deer from running strait into the fence.
