Product Overview

Final All-Weather Blox has a flavor and highly palatable formulation that rats and mice can't resist. Final Blox rodent bait is made with more than 16 human food-grade ingredients for unsurpassed acceptance and control. Final Blox is the preferred bait of rats and mice when tested against other Brodifacoum baits on the market. The active ingredient brodifacoum is an anticoagulant, meaning that when it is ingested, the poison is transferred from the digestive system to the bloodstream where it hinders clotting, causing eventual death. A hole in the center of each block allows it to be placed on bait-securing rods in tamper-resistant bait stations.

Note: Due to California state restrictions, this product cannot be sold to California residents.

For a better value, we recommend Talon Weatherblok XT Rodenticide which contains the same active ingredient at a lower price.

Details

Determine areas where rats or mice will most likely find and consume the bait. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rodents or their signs have been seen. Protect bait from rain and snow. To increase effectiveness, remove as much alternative food as possible so that rodents will seek the bait first. For rats, place 5 to 22 blocks per placement (usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet). For mice, use 1 bait block per placement at intervals of 8 to 12 feet in infested areas. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 to 15 days or until signs of rodent activity cease. Recommended for use with Protecta brand Bait Stations or other secure, tamper-resistant bait station.

Final Bait Blox does have an antidote in case of accidental ingestion by a pet.  The antidote is Vitamin K1, which most veterinarians should have on hand.  Consult the MSDS sheet for more information.

IMPORTANT: Do not expose children, pets, or nontarget animals to rodenticides.

To help to prevent accidents:

  1. Store unused product out of reach of children and pets.
  2. Apply bait in locations out of reach of children, pets, domestic animals and nontarget wildlife, or in tamperresistant bait stations. These stations must be resistant to destruction by dogs and by children under six years of age, and must be used in a manner that prevents such children from reaching into bait compartments and obtaining bait. If bait can be shaken from bait stations when they are lifted, units must be secured or otherwise immobilized. Stronger bait stations are needed in areas open to hoofed livestock, raccoons, bears, or other potentially destructive animals, or in areas prone to vandalism.
  3. Dispose of product container and unused, spoiled, or unconsumed bait as specified on this label.

USE RESTRICTIONS:

Do not place bait in areas where there is a possibility of contaminating food or surfaces that come in direct contact with food. When used in USDA-inspected facilities, this product must be applied in tamper resistant bait stations. Do not broadcast bait.

SELECTION OF TREATMENT AREAS:

Determine areas where rats or mice will most likely find and consume the bait. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rodents or their signs have been seen. Protect bait from rain and snow. Remove as much alternative food as possible.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

  • RATS: Place 5 to 22 blocks (usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet) per placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease.
  • MICE: Place 1 block per placement. Space placements at 8 to 12 foot intervals. Two blocks may be needed at points of very high mouse activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of mouse activity cease.

For use in sewers - Thread wire through block and securely attach to a stationary structure such as the bottom step of a manhole ladder or a sewer grate. Allow just enough wire for the block to rest on manhole benching. If benching is not present, suspend block a few inches above the high water mark or secure block on a board supported by opposing steps of the ladder. Securing block in this manner will prevent removal by rats or water. Use at least 15 blocks per manhole. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease.

FOLLOW-UP:

Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Collect and dispose of all dead, exposed animals and leftover bait. To prevent reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and replenish as needed.

Final Blox, Mice Can't Resist it !!!!!

    By Scott on 09/12/2010

    Verified Purchase

I put out 8 of the EZ Klean Bait Stations that are sold on here, loaded them up with Final Blox. I went back to check stations 3 days later to find that mice had been hitting the Final Blox hard. I was checking the 7th station, I put in the key & unlocked the top of the EZ Klean only to find a mouse setting there eating away, & this was at 1:00pm in the middle of the day. I was shocked. I had to run him off, so I could load more bait into the station!!! I have used different baits for years & Final Blox is by far the best to use for your Mouse, Rat, Small Rodent Problems.

    EXCELLENT PRODUCT

    By Vinnette on 07/06/2011

    Verified Purchase

Great product overall. I was rat/mice free within a week. Three placements, and they were gone. The fourth placements are still in the same spots, untouched. I would recommend this product to anyone getting plague with these little critters. I would purchase them again. Yesterday, I was explaining my mice situation to the exterminator, who comes to my job once monthly, and he had the nerves to tell me that only professional/commercial exterminators can get these stuff to buy. I nodded my head and smile, with no explanation. I could not help myself from thinking, that that is the line that he uses to rip people off.

    WORKS GREAT!!

    By Patrick on 08/25/2010

    Verified Purchase

I was due for more rat bait and decided to upgrade to Final Blox after discussing it with one of their Representatives. I, literally, put this side by side with the Contrac Bloc that I had been using regularly for 2 years (though that worked very well too). The Final Bloc was eaten 1st 100% of the time. The Norwegian Roof Rats that we have in San Diego definitely prefer this bait! Even though I occasionally get these rats in my attic, they never die up there (thankfully!). They go outside in search of water because of the way these baits kill. I highly recommend these products!!!!

    Final Blox

    By John on 01/28/2009

I have spent hundreds of dollars on baits that didn't work. My rat problem was way out of control. My self and my workers keep the shops clean and disposed of all trash at the end of each day but the rats keep coming back. This has stopped since we started using this product. NOT ONE DARN RAT. Thank goodness! I have been told that it is a good idea to change to 3 different baits every 3 months. I can tell you Final Blox works. Hope this helps.

    Reduced mice population

    By Donald on 01/18/2008

    Verified Purchase

This bait used in mouse bait stations around my house has been very effective. I believe that the formulation of 16 food ingredients makes it desirable to the mice. I have had no incidents of secondary raptor poisoning so far. Mice population has been reduced. I tried several brands, and colors, and found this was fed on more. So all my bait stations will use the Final Blox from now on.

Q
What is the difference between FINAL and FASTRAC?

Is there a difference in the length of time until rodent death after ingestion? I believe FASTRAC is 12-48 hrs.. We are baiting 5 acres of common area landscape in a community. Thanks

A
Fastrac contains the active ingredient Bromethalin .01% and Final contains Brodifacoum .005%. Fastrac does have a faster kill than Final. Fastrac kills within 12-48 hours and Final kills with 3-7 days of ingestion of a lethal dose.

Q
Is the Final Blox harmful to dogs and cats?
A
Final Blox are safe for dogs and cats if used in a tamper resistant bait station. There is also an antidote that is available through your local vet if a pet gets a hold of the bait. Keep stored at room temperature out of their reach. Also, a dog or cat would have to get a hold of numerous dead rodents to feel the effects of a rodent bait, usually more than 10, and the pet would have to actually consume the entire rodent.  Most pets might play around with a dead rodent, but not consume it.

Q
Is Final Blox stronger than the Contrac blox?

I live in NYC, and I have a rat infestation under a ground level outdoor deck. I have three tamper proof bait stations outside with Contrac Blox in them. Should I be using Final for an infestation?

A
Final Blox and Contrac Blox are pretty comparable, though Final Blox may actually kill the rat a bit faster. For the fastest knockdown of a rat population Fastrac Blox are recommended.

Q
Why does the description of Final Blox talk about an antidote if one doesn't really exist?
A
An antidote does really exist and is readily available at veterinarian hospitals, doctors offices and hospitals in case of accidental ingestion. Please take a few minutes to review the Final Blox MSDS. Review page 2, SECTION VI. HEALTH HAZARDS where they refer to the antidote Vitamin K1.

Q
Did the EPA ban anticoagulant baits in June?
A
The EPA did not ban anticoagulants in June.  They did however pass laws regarding how anticoagulants can be sold.  The federal government has decided that certain types of rodenticides should not be sold in the same manner they have been after June 4, 2011.  These regulations were passed to try to prevent over the counter sales of rodenticides to homeowners and minimize secondary poisoning and misuse of rodenticides.  Unfortunately too many people have placed rodenticides in locations they should not be, such as easy to access places that children and pets can easily get to.  Basically all of the smaller quantities of rodent bait that you have been able to purchase over the counter will no longer be available.  You will only be able to purchase bait already inside a rodent station that is a one time use product.  It will come pre-baited in a sealed rodent station.  This will be the general rule for big box stores like Wal-Mart and Home Depot.  For a specialty store like ourselves, Do My Own Pest Control, we will no longer be able to sell certain rodent place packs, liquid rodenticides, or bait blox in smaller quantities than 16 pounds.  This was passed to discourage homeowners from purchasing rodenticides since they have to now purchase them in large quantities.  Most homeowners do not need 16 lbs worth of place packs.  We will be able to continue to sell the current stock that we have of currently labeled product while supplies last.  However, after June 4th, once we sell out of our current stock and start receiving newly manufactured bait, we will no longer be able to sell it in less than 16lb increments.  There will be some baits that we can continue to sell in smaller quantities but they will be very few and only the ones that have a minimal secondary poisoning risk.
