Halo 75WDG Select is a post emergent herbicide that targets purple and yellow nutsedge and other broadleaf weeds. It will suppress green and annual kyllinga, and tough broadleaf weeds such as horsetail and ragweed. Halo 75WDG can be used in warm and cool season turf grasses, landscaped areas, and other non-crop areas listed on the product label without causing injury to your landscaped areas.
Halo 75WDG contains the same active ingredient found in Sedgehammer. It works by stunting weed growth which allows the crop to take over the development of the targeted weed. Once the weed growth is sunted the leaves and growing point will discolor and die. Complete control generally takes 7-14 days, depending on weed size, species, and growing conditions. Standard usuage rates are 0.66-1.33oz. per acre. Halo 75WDG can be tank mixed with non-ionic surfactants to increase control.
Halo 75WDG Select is not for use on edible plants or in gardens.

If you make multiple treatments, you can plant new perennials and annuals at least 4-6 weeks after your last application of Halo 75WDG Select.

Halo 75WDG Select Herbicide is not labeled safe to be applied around ornamentals, flowers, shrubs, trees, fruits, vegetables, citrus or any edibles. Please use precautions if treating around citrus trees by avoiding spraying on windy days, do not spray weeds or roots within and under the tree canopy and spray away from the trees root line to avoid these injuries to your trees and fruit crop.
Per the product label, “avoid contact of the spray containing this product to desirable flowers, ornamentals, shrubs or trees as discoloration, severe foliar injury or death may result."
Halo 75WDG Select is only labeled for use in turf-grass and landscape areas and cannot be used in or around crops, edibles or gardens. Dual Magnum Herbicide or Basagran Herbicide (NOT the T/O) would be alternatives for a selective herbicide to treat for yellow nutsedge and other weeds in corn crops. Another treatment option is to use a non selective glyphosate herbicide such as Eraser A/P to spot treat the yellow nutsedge directly before planting maize. Spraying onto the ground does not help as the weeds must be sprayed directly and repeat applications will be needed. Once the maize has emerged, caution should be taken when using a non selective as you risk killing the maize if any overspray contacts the crop.
