    Q
Does Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control kill fire blight?
My flowering pear tree has fire blight. Will Hi-Yield 38-Plus work for this?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control 38% Permethrin is an insecticide only and will not affect any diseases.  There is a great article here on this disease that recommends liquid copper.  Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate is labeled for fireblight on pear trees, but it does need to be applied as a spray application since a systemic fungicide would not be effective.  You would mix 0.5 to 2.0 fluid ounces of product per gallon of water, and the label states, "for fireblight apply in the dormant period, during season bloom, or as in-season cover spray.  Do not exceed one application during the fall, late dormant period.  Do not exceed one application between silver tip and green tip growth stages....Do not exceed 1 gallon of product per 100 gallons of water.  Repeat application every 7-10 days during bloom and growing season if needed."

    Q
Can Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control 38% Permethrin be used in the soil where Peach Borers have started on roots? Also on the trunk where there holes to kill them? How often should you spray for them and to start?
    A

Hi Yield 38 Plus is not safe for use on or near any edible vegetation. You would need to keep this off of the foliage and bark, and away from the root zone. Captain Jacks Deadbug Brew or Sevin Insecticide Concentrate would be a great option for a spray on the foliage, bark, and roots of the tree. You can also use a trap like the Monterey Peach Tree Borer Trap to try and reduce populations on your tree.

    Q
    Can I spray Hi-Yield 38-Plus around a cabin near a small lake?
Spraying ant mounds in the lawn
    A

Hi Yield 38 Plus would be safe depending on how close the house is to the actual lake as it is toxic to aquatic invertebrates so you would not want to happy where drift or runoff could go into the lake. If you are closer to the lake and runoff could be an issue, Essentria IC3 would be a better product. Essentria is safe to use around aquatic life and it will work great for mosquitoes and many other insects.
