    Q
Will Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control be effective on underground yellow jacket nests?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control is not labelled for yellow jackets.  Dusting is the most effective way to treat yellow jackets and ground nests, using Tempo 1% Dust or Delta Dust and applying directly to the holes with a bellow hand duster.  You will want to treat in the evening time when they are least active. Please review our DIY Treatment Guide for Wasps, Yellow Jackets and Hornets for more information.

  • Asked by Carol from Maplewood, New Jersey

    Q
How much Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control 38% Permethrin per gallon of water do I use to treat for Euonymus Scale?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control 38% Permethrin is not labeled to treat Eunonymus Scale. Timing is critical when trying to manage euonymus scale. The hard waxy cover protects adult scale from contact insecticides. Therefore, adults treated with a contact insecticide will live to produce another generation later that year. Crawlers can be killed easily because they are small and unprotected by a cover. Thus, nearly all products specifically target this stage.

We would recommend you use Talstar P making sure you spray under the leaves as well as the top of the leaves. You can follow that up with horticultural oil for a faster knockdown. The Talstar will leave a residual to kill new crawlers:

WouldHi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control kill spittle bugs?
we have an infestation in our neighborhood, I walk on the grass and they are flying all over, I have seen them also in the soil in the spittle cocoon. thank you fro the help
    A
Although, Hi Yield 38 Plus is not labeled to treat spittle bugs, we do not see why it would not kill them when they come in contact with the treated area. We recommend using a product called Hi Yield Bug Blaster 2.4 % which is labeled to treat Spittle bugs.

I am looking for a liquid to mix with water.

We would recommend our Ferti-Lome Triple Action Plus with 70% Neem Oil to kill stink bugs on your tomatoes.  The Triple Action Plus Plus with 70% Neem Oil  is an insecticide, miticide, and even an fungicide that can be used up to the day of harvest and reapplied every 14 days.

  • Asked by Paul from Dallas, Tx

    Q
What concentration is required for grasshopper control?
What dillution ratio is required for this product for grasshopper control? Should I follow the instruction label, or is there an alternative dosage required?
    A
With any product you always want to follow the instruction label for the item. The Hi Yield 38 Plus actually does not have grasshoppers listed on the label as pests controlled. The label states for lawn applications for other pests like ants, flease, ticks crickets, etc: Use .4 to .8 ounces of Hi Yield 38 Plus per 1000 sq/ft. A great option for grasshopper control would be the Bifen IT.

My 4 month old female cate just died due to over exposure. What can we do if this happens again?
She was exposed at noon to day and died at 7pm. When I became aware of her medical condition when was unmoving and shakeing real hard in jerking motions. I took her to the bathtub and bathed her in cool water with dawn soap. I repeated the wash and held her in my arms in the water for an hour. We didn't have the means of adequit transpertation to take her to the emergency vet and could not get any other amswer as to any other treatment that we could preform.

We are truly sorry to hear about your cat. The Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin label instructs all pets be kept out of the treated area until the product has dried. When treating with any insecticide inside or outside, it is important to follow the manufacturer's safety proceedures. Once the product has had time to dry, it is safe for humans and pets to be in the area. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Asked by Joe from Emmett, Idaho
    05/25/2015
    Q
HELP! Major earwig problem. They are decimating my perennials and newly planted petunias. Nests everywhere.
There are nests turning up everywhere. Destroying everything. Roses, too. Expensive hybrids! SW Idaho. They are ruining my landscaping. What is the best product for outdoor earwigs? Permethrin seems to work, but I pour it on them and I never actually see them die. It seems to eventually work. Suggestions?
    A
Permethrin is actually one of the products we would recommend to get rid of earwigs outdoors. It is normal not to see them die even if you spray them directly. That is because permethrin kills within a day or so, not immediately. If you want to speed up the kill rate you can add Exciter to your Permethrin mix, a pyrethrin is an active ingredient which will offer a faster knockdown. You can find Exciter here: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/exciter-insecticide-p-671.html
