This product only control weeds that have already emerged and that are actively growing. If your yard has started going dormant at all and your temps are not above 65 degrees at least 5 days in a row at this point in the year, then you need ot wait until next year to apply the product as you will only see spotty results now.
Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra can be used on tall Fescue to control Bermuda grass. Per the product label, the application rate is 3/4 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water. You will likely have to do multiple applications to gain full control of the Bermuda grass. Applications can be done every 3-4 weeks.
Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra is labeled to eradicate wild violets. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions. You will mix 3/8 - 3/4 oz. per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. You can apply this product early spring through fall for the most effective results.
HI-YIELD Turflon Ester Ultra herbicide for the control of actively growing annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and kikuyugrass in perennial bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, or tall fescue. Marathon II lawns are commonly refered to as a dwarf tall fescue and because it is a specialty variety we are unsure of the effects of Turflon Ester Ultra on your turf variety. We would recommend performing a small spot treatment to test for sensitivity.
Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra is a selective post-emergent herbicide that will be most effective on young, actively growing weeds listed on the product label. It will be difficult to get control using post-emergent herbicides once temperatures are consistently less than 60 degrees and plants are beginning to go dormant.
Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra could affect nearby desirable plants if it were to contact them or the root system. We would not recommend applying this product at or near the dripline of any desirable plants.
Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra is not labeled for poison oak and would not be recommended to be used for controlling it. The Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer could be used for it.
The Turflon Ester label does not state any precautionary instructions for roses, but does advise, " Very small quantities of spray, which may not be visible, may seriously injure susceptible plants. Do not spray when wind is blowing toward susceptible crops or ornamental plants that are near enough to be injured. Spray drift can be reduced by keeping the spray boom as low as possible; by using higher volume sprays and lower pressures; using nozzles that deliver larger spray droplets; and by spraying when wind velocity is low."
We recommend contacting your local Master Gardener for help and recommendations on what products to you use and when the best time fram for treatment is to help reverse any damage done.
Bermuda would be considered a grassy weed, so you need a product that is geared towards grassy weeds and not broadleaf weeds. We want to be clear that bermuda can be suppressed, but it is VERY difficult to kill completely. It will take multiple treatments to finally kill it. HI-YIELD Turflon Ester Ultra herbicide could be used to do so.
Yes, a non-ionic surfactant can be added to Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra when being applied to wild violets. The mixing ratio for the surfactant is 1-2 teaspoons per gallon of water. However, if you are treating in your lawn, do not use a surfactant as you could burn your lawn.
Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra states on the product label: Do not reseed for 3 weeks after application.
The product label Hi-Yield Turflon Ester Ultra does not recommended using a surfactant so it would not be needed.
No, Hi Yield Turflon Ester Ultra is not labeled specifically to eliminate cottonwood trees.
We would recommend using Monterey Brush and Vine Control for cottonwood trees. It is recommended that you use a surfactant with the product so that it coats the plant better and eliminates them.
Wiregrass is a form of bermudagrass, so to start we want to be clear that Bermuda can be suppressed but it is VERY difficult to kill completely. It will take multiple applications to kill completely but Fusilade is normally the go-to product for this issue, though it states on the label it is not for residential lawns. Other options are Turflon Ester or Acclaim which do not list this restriction on the labels. The best time to apply any product would be in the Spring as the Bermuda is just starting to green up; Fall applications would have limited or no result since the grass is going into dormancy.
Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester Ultra is labeled to kill Oxalis in general. Since the product has an active ingredient of Triclopyr 60.45%, it will kill the bulb/roots of the Oxalis plant. Coverage of the weed with the spray is critical with this active ingredient, make sure that you follow the application rate on the label and you may need to add 1 once of Agrifact Pro 80/20 Surfactant per gallon of mixture.
We would need to know what specific product of Ferti-lome you are wanting to mix together in order to advise if mixing the Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester Ultra would be permitted. You may also check the product labels for "tank mixing" instructions on if and how the product is able to to mixed.
Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester Ultra is best applied in temperatures below 90 to prevent burning of the turfgrass and better effectiveness against the targeted weeds.
