    Q
Is Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester safe on ground cover juniper bushes? Creeping Charlie has invaded it.
    A

Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester is not labeled as safe to apply over juniper.

Unfortunately, there is not an herbicide available that would remove the ground ivy from around juniper that would not also potentially harm it. The best thing for this area is to wear gloves and carefully hand pull the ivy or you can carefully spot treat with a glyphosate-based product such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant, avoiding contact with as much of the juniper as you can.

    Q
My whole side and back yard has creeping charlie in it. If I spray the whole yard with Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester would the grass die too?
    A

Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester will kill the creeping charlie. As far as your grass, that would depend on your grass type. If it is a cool season grass like Fescue, it might discolor it but it should recover. It would not be broadcasted across any warm season turfgrass

  • Asked by Steve from Commack, Ny
    03/23/2023
    Q
I live on Long Island NY. I am battling wild violetsts
What is the ideal time of year to spray? I'm starting to see the beginning of flowering
    A

Hi-Yield Triclopyr Ester should be applied in the autumn months, before Wild Violet roots and rhizomes grow too thick or deep, to have the greatest impact on these young weeds. Multiple applications of a Wild Violet weed killer may be required if the Wild Violet weeds have had time to grow and establish their rhizomes and deep root networks on your property. Consult the label of your selective herbicide for details on how often to reapply.

Can I mix Triclopyr with 2-4-D to make an equivalent of Crossbow herbicide?
I have both Triclopyr and 2-4-D in quantity. Crossbow has been named as effective on bush honeysuckle. Can I mix what I have to create an equivalent?
