  • Asked by Don from Lebanon, Ohio
    03/05/2018
    Q
What should I use next after applying Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide?
I've applied this as my early spring preemergent. I can see that I have about 4 weeks of control. So, what should I use next and when? I love in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and I applied this when soil temps were at around 55 degrees, but they have of course dropped back down. So, should I reapply? What should I use for summer control? Thanks
    A

You can reapply Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension for extended control as long as you are not exceeding the maximum rates of 9.2 lbs per 1,000 sq ft per application and 27.6 lbs per 1,000 square feet per year. If you have existing weeds that you need to kill, then we would need to know the specific weeds you are targeting to make a recommendation for post-emergent activity. • Asked by Susan from Norcross, Georgia

    Q
Watering in after applying Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide
In one of your Q&A's, you said to water in the HI yield pre emergent after applying. Then on another questions about watering. You answered no need to water right away, but water before 30 days. Which is it?
    A

We apologize for any confusion. The Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension must be activated with irrigation or rainfall to be effective. If there are children or pets in the area, then it is best to water in the product immediately after application. Per the product label:  Performance is improved if application is followed by 1/2 inch of rainfall or sprinkler irrigation. Erratic weed control may result if not activated by rainfall or irrigation within 30 days after application.

    Q
How long should I wait to plant my vegetable garden after applying Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper?
    A

Keep in mind that Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide cannot be applied in areas where you are going to plant anything edible.  It can stay in the soil for up to 4-6 months. If you are looking to prevent weed growth in an area where edibles are planted, you would want to use Monterey Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder after you have planted.

  • Asked by Slf from Niceville, Fl

    Q
Would you mix Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide with a winterizer?
Would you mix the Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide with Ferti-Lome Winterizer and Weed Preventer II For Southern Grasses in the fall on centipede grass in Florida? I want to prep my grass for a healthy weed free spring.
    A

Ferti-Lome Winterizer and Weed Preventer II For Southern Grasses already contains dithiopyr which is the active ingredient in Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide.  There is no reason or benefit to using both so you would just use the Winterizer for the added benefit of the nutrients.

  • Asked by Tom from Abilene, Texas
    03/05/2015
    Q
Can Hi-Yield Weed & Grass Stopper be applied on melting snow?
I live in Texas where when it snows it usually melts in 12 hours. Such is the case today. Can the product be applied on ice or snow and allowed to soak in slowly instead of watering it in or does the snow/ice negatively effect the product?
    A
You do not want to apply herbicides or pesticides directly on snow or ice or to any soil that is frozen. You should wait until any snow or ice has melted and either soaked into the ground or evaporated. You can contact your local cooperative extension for the best timing for your pre-emergent application in your area.

  • Asked by Rick from Pittsburgh,pa
    02/27/2018
    Q
Is the hi-yield weed and feed as effective than hi-yield crabgrass preemergent?
I want superior crabgrass control so is preemergent more effective than weed and feed or is weed and feed just as effective per bag comparison
    A

Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed and Grass Stopper contains dimension pre-emergent which provides superior control of crabgrass as well as control or suppression of other listed weeds when applied before they germinate. This will also provide post-emergent control of crabgrass only and is effective on crabgrass up to 4 to weeks after it has germinated and emerged.  A weed and feed product is fertilizer with either a pre-emergent or a post emergent mixed in with it.
