Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed and Grass Stopper contains dimension pre-emergent which provides superior control of crabgrass as well as control or suppression of other listed weeds when applied before they germinate. This will also provide post-emergent control of crabgrass only and is effective on crabgrass up to 4 to weeks after it has germinated and emerged. A weed and feed product is fertilizer with either a pre-emergent or a post emergent mixed in with it.
Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide application rates vary according to what you are treating for and type of turf grass you have. Cool season grasses 2.4-9.2lbs per 1000sq. feet. Warm season grasses 3.5-9.2lbs per 1000sq. feet.
Almost all fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, etc have treatments in amounts of so much product per 1000 square feet. So if you can figure out what your walking speed is then you know anytime you apply any product that calls for so much of it per 1000 square feet, you always set your spreader on this setting. You can calibrate this by marking off a 1000 square foot (10 x 100) area and placing 4 ounces of any type of product of similar granule size, or of the extinguish in the spreader. Start with a low setting and start walking your marked off area at a normal pace. You can adjust as you go and find the basic setting for you to apply the product over a 1000 square feet.

You can use another herbicide at the same as using a pre-emergent such as Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension as long as you are following the product labels for what you are using. If you are putting down a post-emergent at the same time as your pre-emergent, then you will want to delay watering-in the pre-emergent for at least a day so that you do not wash away the post-emergent. (The Hi-Yield with Dimension must be watered in to be activated.) Most 2,4-D products will control dandelion, but that active ingredient will not kill nutsedge or poa annua. Hi-Yield Weed & Grass Stopper with Dimension will not kill existing poa annua.
