    Still waiting for any results

    By Tone on 04/24/2022

I'm into my first 18 months or so of using this as part of the yearly maintenance subscription. I easily have more weeds now than when I started.

We are sorry to hear your results were not as expected. Timing is always key with pre-emergent applications. If you have weeds that are actively growing we would also recommend using a post-emergent product to kill the existing weeds. Once they are under control, the pre-emergent can stop new weeds from emerging. Please let us know if you need assistance choosing a post-emergent. We are always happy to help!

    Bad

    By Dave on 03/07/2023

First, no spreader suggestions -on bag or from anyone- makes homeowners trying to applying this product a crapshoot. Then, I have a commercial Echo spreader and the HoJo granules jams the spreader...e-v-e-r-y single time. Used it last year (cursed each application repeatedly) then tried it again this spring thinking maybe last year's batch was bad. Same fails, so I have cxld all HoJo shipments from my annual application program. This junk product should NOT be part of DoMyOwn's offerings.

We do know it is frustrating that spreader settings are not given by the manufacturer. We do have a great video explaining how to calibrate your spreader and we have linked it below. We are sorry to hear that you had issues with the granules clogging your spreader as well. We are giving this feedback to the manufacturer as this is not an issue we have had reported in the past. https://www.domyown.com/how-to-use-spreader-correct-lawn-spreader-settings-v-332.html

    Terrible Doesn't Help Against Weed

    By Nirmit on 04/28/2023

I generally never write reviews but very disappointed with this product. I signed up for Domyown Lawn Care Maintenance program and applied this product twice. This did not help with my weed instead when I used to use a company they did much better job than this. This product does not work I followed all the listed instruction throughly you will still see small weeds pop up. Don't waste your money on this you will regret it

    Expert Response  Expert response:
We apologize you did not achieve the intended results. We would welcome the opportunity to troubleshoot the application to help get you the results you need. Please contact us at your earliest convenience!

    Did not control weeds

    By Cristina on 04/30/2023

Applied early while grass was still dormant. Grass is now green but now I have more weeds than before I started using this product. Throwing it away.

Timing is always key when using pre-emergent herbicides. The general rule for spring is to apply your pre-emergent herbicide treatment after the ground has thawed from the winter but before the temperature of your soil reaches 55 degrees, as that is when crabgrass begins to germinate. Other weeds will germinate when the soil temperature is between 55 and 65 degrees. You can use a soil thermometer to determine the temperature of your lawn/area. You will want to measure the temperature of the soil a few inches below ground. You may also contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region or search online for best time to apply in your area. A lot of universities have great articles for this. http://npic.orst.edu/pest/countyext.htm
