This medication must be given after a fatty meal in order to be properly absorbed into the body and to maximize its effect.
Dose for Cats:
Cats weighing 8 lbs. or less use 1/2 the powder contents of one capsule once a month. Cats weighing more than 8 lbs. and up to 20 lbs. 1 capsule monthly whole, or opened and powder mixed with wet food.
A fatty meal is WET FOOD or DRY FOOD added to it a teaspoon of Olive or any cooking oil.
Pets may experience hyperactivity or excessive scratching for a few hours after the drug is given, this is a natural effect to dying fleas biting and NOT a medicine side effect. Side effects are rare and may include lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy.

I was glad to see capsules so I could mix the med in with wet food, but it said to use olive oil. I questioned that because I didn't think my cats liked olive oil, but tried with 1 capsule for 2 cats per weight instructions. Wasted capsule. Neither cat would go near it! I mixed the next one with the wet food and softened butter and they ate it up immediately!

Starts working within 20 to 30 minutes. It's been one week and no fleas to be seen. The neurotoxin kills the adult fleas and then the 2nd compound melts the exoskeleton of the larva and eggs killing them. Used along wit the Rosemary/cedar spray and of course vacuumed and laundered everything. I think we might be winning the battle!

After the 24 hours if an adult flea from their surroundings finds them and bites them, will it kill that adult also?
