    Q
Is Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide pet friendly? If my dogs were to eat a rodent that has died from the bait, will it harm my dogs?
    A

If used correctly, pets should not have access to the Kaput Mouse Blocks or any other rodenticide as bait blocks should be placed (with gloved hands) in tamper resistant stations (rat size stations can be found here).

    Q
What are the chances of secondary poisoning to wildlife or domestic animals that eat a rodent that has died from consuming Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide?
We live in a heavily wooded area with owls and other predators that consume mice and voles and don't want to unintentionally poison them.
    A

The active ingredient warfarin that is in Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide has low environmental and secondary toxicity which makes it less toxic to non-target animals. There is a Vitamin K1 antidote available with your local Vet if needed.

    Q
Will mice that have died from eating Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide be harmful to a barn cat if he were to eat the dead mouse?
I need to kill some inaccessible mice in the house and have outdoor cats on the farm
    A

Typically the lethal dose amount of Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide to a mouse is going to be minimal to a larger domestic animals such as a cat or dog. Rodent bait blox should always be used in tampe resistant bait stations to keep non target animals from accessing the bait.

If not target animals were to eat the rodent bait directly, contact the Poison Control Hotline at 1-800-222-1222 or your Vet immediately for the Vitamin K antidote.

    Q
Will this work well for Roof rats and deer mice?
Will this product work in the ezclean rat sized bait stations? I was concerned if they would fit on the bars in this station. https://www.domyown.com/ez-klean-rodent-bait-station-p-1456.html?sub_id=12909 How well will this work for roof rats and deer mice? The safety of this product appeals to me over more toxic rodenticides. I have children and wildlife on the property.
    A
Yes, you can use Kaput Mouse Blocks for roof rats and for deer mice. These blocks will fit on the rods in the EZ Klean Rat Bait Stations. Be sure that you maintain a fresh supply of bait as long as you see rodent activity, and keep in mind that one rat will eat an average of one ounce of bait per day.

    Q
How often to switch out baits?
Initially, I was checking my bait boxes loaded with this product every other week to replace baits per the label instructions. Now that the infestation is under control, how long should I leave the bait in the bait boxes before replacing with fresh bait? I have 6 bait stations around my house and mice and roof rats are my primary target. I normally place 2 or 3 baits per station for maintenance and I've been replacing the bait every month. Does that seem reasonable? I can go through a box of bait quickly with the monthly replacement. Can I leave the bait in the boxes longer than a month and just check monthly? Just trying to lower my monthly maintenance time and cost. Every now and then the boxes will be empty when I check and I can tell a rat or larger rodent came along and cleaned them out.
    A
Depending on what you are treating, you should maintain a fresh supply of Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide  bait every 10-15 days. You can alternate the bait with others, containing different active ingredients, as often as you like.  Please see our baiting tips article here for more baiting tips.
