ok so i bought trap to catch a opossum. set it. caught it the first night. my only concerns were to release it to open door not easy and to close to animal. fearful of getting a bite. directions for trap operation to complicated. they give you directions for other traps including the one you bought. trap is very small. my animal was big so it took up whole cage. i was wondering if it could back out before door went down. only if it were a different system for door operation. be careful with this one. i would give it a 5 star rating if door were easier.

the other cage you sell has a back release door for more money. was just wondering how to let animal out.
You do not roll the Tomahawk Rigid Trap Model 104.5. To release the animal you simply re-open the front door in the same manner as you did when you set the trap. If you have an aggressive animal in the trap you may want to wear animal gloves or throw a towel over the trap so the animal will calm down before opening the trap. In almost every case however once you open the door the animal just takes off running. If you have a skunk in the trap you will definitely want to throw a thick plastic tarp over the trap and leave the animal alone for at 30 minutes before releasing to avoid being sprayed.
