    Q
Can Malathion 57% can be mixed with Ultra-Pure oil horticultural insecticide, miticide and fungicide?
The rate for ornamental trees straying against leafhopper I count the same as you suggested for fruit trees 0.15-0.2fl.oz. per 1gal. of water or 12-13ml. per 10l. water. I will make a mixture of that both pesticides - Malathion57% 12ml . and 200ml. of Pure Oil for 10l of water. Could you please correct me if I am wrong! Thanks
    A

These products can be mixed together. We would recommend doing a small tank mixture to ensure that there is no clumping. The mixing ratio for Malathion is .15 to .20 ounces per gallon of water. The mixing ratio if the Ultra Pure Oil is 1-2.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water.

  • Asked by Jeff from Heber Springs, Ar

    Q
Malathion 57% in combination w/ Evergreen Pyrethrum?
In an earlier Answer you state that Malathion 57% is the only vegetable garden poison that you sell. When we are in harvest mode in the vegetable garden I have normally used Pyrethrum in a fogger in the late evening/dusk and we are able to pick fruits and veggies the next morning. Am I doing something wrong here? Would a blend of the two offer greater knock-down?
    A
This answer you saw was probably from back when we did not carry many lawn and garden products.  We now carry a full line of products that can be applied to vegetables and gardens in addition to the Malathion, including pyrethrum.  It's just that the answer was from a point where we didn't carry all of those products and now we do.  We apologize for the confusion.  There is not a need to mix the products.  Pyrethrum by itself will work great, or malathion by itself is good also....no need to mix.

    Q
How many grams of Malathion powder needs to mix with one gallon of water?
    A
Malathion is typically meant for treating large areas or crop land.  The label calls for approx. 1 to 1.5 pints per 100 gallons of water for fruit trees which works out to be .15 to .20 ounces per gallon of water.  However, for safety and proper treatment you should find your particular fruit tree on the product label for accuracy and exact mixture ratios.

    Q
    Is Malathion good for grubs?
    A
No, Malathion 57% is not labeled for grubs. We would recommend using Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix over two years in order to treat for grubs for a long period of time. One bag will treat 7000 sq. ft. However, it is too late in the year to be doing any type of grub treatments. This should only be used during the spring, summer and fall months.

    Q
Can I spray Malathion 57% on a new lawn to control gnats?
    Will it harm the grass?
    A

Unfortunately. Malation 57% is not labeled for gnats. If you are looking for a more natural product to treat for gnats, we would recommend a product like Essentria IC3, or if not then we would recommend like Talstar P. Each of these products would also be safe for the lawn.
