Yes, Martins Permethrin 10% is safe if used as directed on the product label. People and pets need to be kept out of the area during application but it is perfectly fine for them to return once all surfaces have completely dried.
Martin's Permethrin 10% is not labeled for mites on dogs or humans and cannot be recommended or used for this issue. We would recommend contacting your vet and doctor for advice on treating this type of mite. We do not carry anything for people infesting parasites/mites.
Martins Permethrin 10% can be applied as a spray to the lawn for various listed insects on the label. The guidelines for dogs is the following:
Dilute 8 ozs. in 12.5 gals. of water
Thoroughly wet the animal by dipping, sponging or spraying.
Allow animal to dry in a warm place without rinsing or
toweling. Do not reapply product for two to three weeks.
Consult a veterinarian before using this product on
debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals on medication.
It is best to follow the manufacturer's instructions on the label for proper usage of the product.
Spraying your lawn with Martins Permethrin for ticks will not harm birds, however you may notice less of them around as the permethrin will kill many of the insects that they would be feeding on in the yard.
Martins Permethrin 10% should be used or discarded within 24 hours of being mixed.
The dilution rate of Martins Permethrin 10% is 2oz per gallon water. So for a four gallon mix it would be 6-8oz per 4 gallons.

Martins Permethrin 10% is to be mixed at 1 1/2 oz. in 1 quart of water for treating 400 linear feet with a 6-inch spray band. For other applications rates you can refer to the product label.
Martins Permethrin 10% is not labeled for use on squash plants. Sevin Concentrate and it is safe for squash and labeled for squash bugs. You will apply 1.5 fl oz per gallon of water.
Martins Permethrin 10% is labeled to control grubs as directed on page 4 of the product label. Thoroughly wet down grass a few hours before applying. Home lawns should be no taller than 3 inches at time of application. Slightly more water may be used as long as the amount of product per area is as listed below. For heavy infestations, repeat application after 2 weeks. For grubs, use 1 1/2 fl. ozs. in 10 gals. of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft.

Martins Permethrin 10% is not labeled for chiggers and may not provide adequate results for you. Onslaught insecticide is labeled for chiggers and can be used both indoors and outdoors as a broadcast spray. Chiggers are not known to infest structures. Chiggers are most likely outdoors in your yard.
