Monterey Weed Impede 2-in-1 Concentrate is a unique non-selective herbicide because it contains both pre-emergent and post-emergent active ingredients. Glyphosate enters plants through foliage and works systemically through the roots to kill target plants, while Prodiamine creates an invisible barrier in soil to prevent development of new plants. Use Weed Impede on established annual and perennial weeds such as bluegrass, chickweed, crabgrass, goosegrass, mustard, spurge, bahiagrass, bermudagrass, clover, thistle, dandelion, and many more. Use as a pre-emergent for annual bluegrass, chickweed, carpetweed, pigweed, and other listed plants.

What is Weed Impede 2 in 1 Concentrate?
Weed Impede 2 in 1 is a combination of glyphosate (Roundup®) and Prodiamine. Glyphosate is a post-emergence herbicide that controls existing weeds. Whole prodiamine is a pre-emergence herbicide that controls weeds before they emerge up. This product delivers the control of both herbicides in one application.
Where do I use Weed Impede 2 in 1?
Use in non-planted areas such as driveways, walkways, patio, fence lines, retaining walls, vacant areas, etc. Also use under and around the bases of well-established (6 months old or more) trees and shrub. Use to edge lawns, and to clear weeds in gravel areas.
What is the Principle behind Weed Impede 2 in 1?
One ingredient enters the plant through the foliage and moves down into the roots, killing the plant. The other ingredient provides an invisible barrier in the soil, preventing growth and development of newly germinated weeds.
What rate do I use with Weed Impede 2 in 1?
Apply 3-6 oz. per gallon of water per 1000 sq. feet. Use the higher rate for longer control.
When do I apply Weed Impede 2 in 1?
It can be applied anytime of the year. For best results, apply when the emerged weeds are actively growing and daytime temperatures are above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. More than one application per year can be made.
How soon can I replant after application?
Bedding plants, trees, shrubs, sod, and seed can be planted four months after application.
What precautions should I take?
Avoid drift. Do not apply to the foliage of desirable plants. People and pets should not enter the treated area until the spray has dried. Do not apply to newly planted trees or shrubs (they should be at least 6 months old)
What weeds are controlled?
Most all annual weeds and grasses post emergence. Many common weeds and grasses pre-emergence.

Looks like a winner.

It is still a little cool here, but I mixed up a small batch 5oz./gal.) and it worked quickly to eliminate all growing weeds. Planning on major application in a week or so (end of Feb.) and expecting pre-emerge to work as well as post-emerge did. I like the added dye to show exactly where spray is going. Looks perfect for a state where weeds grow all year 'round.

If I mix a gallon, does it all have to be used at that time to get full effectiveness? Can what isn't used be kept in the container for a week or so and still work?
Once Monterey Weed Impede has been mixed with water, it must be used or discarded within 24 hours.

Monterey Weed Impede 2 in 1 Herbicide can be rainfast within 6 hours but is best applied when rain is not expected within 24 hours. It is bes to water in within 7-10 days after application to get the benefit of pre-emergent control.

I'm looking for a pre emergent that I can use in asparagus bed before the asparagus begins to grow in the spring.
Monterey Weed Impede 2 in 1 Herbicide should not be used for vegetable garden preparations or in and around fruits and vegetables. You can apply a non-selective post-emergent herbicide such as RoundUp prior to planting (to kill existing emerging weeds) as it only will stay in the soil up to 1-2 weeks. We do carry a pre-emergent herbicide that can only be applied to established asparagus called Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder. It is applied to asparagus after ferns are removed but before the spear emergence.
Monterey Weed Impede 2 in 1 Herbicide is a yellow liquid.
