    Will MSM Turf harm the post oak trees in my yard if I spray the turf for bahia?
    A

     There is a danger if using MSM Turf Herbicide around oak trees, so you want to be sure that you do not use MSM under any oak tree canopies: be sure to stay outside the drip line of these trees and do not spray if there is wind or other risk of drift to oak trees. Keep in mind that MSM can have a long soil residual, so you should not apply this near desirable trees or ornamental plants or where you intend to plant new trees or shrubs within 1 year and new bedding plants within 2 years. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.

    How much MSM Turf Herbicide is needed for buttonweed control?
    I have a 25 gal spray rig; spray rig is pulled behind a tractor, 10 nozzles. 5 acres. Can I mix with Celsius WG? Do the rates of application change or stay the same?
    A

    You will use 0.5 to 1.0 oz of MSM Turf Herbicide per Acre for control of Virginia buttonweed. Per the product label, a subsequent application after 4-6 weeks may be needed. If you plan to tank mix with another herbicide, then be sure you do a small jar test for compatability first. I would also spot treat a small area of grass for tolerance since the turf will be more stressed in summer.

    Can MSM be used on crown zoysia? Label lists only Meyers and emerald zoysia.

    MSM Turf Herbicide only lists Meyers and emerald zoysia as tolerable.  We cannot recommend using it on any other type of zoysia.

    MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to be used on Paspalam turf.  Certainty is an option depending on your target weeds.

    Is MSM Turf Herbicide safe to use around chickens?
    Can I use Manor on my turf if I have chickens?
    A

    The chickens would need to be removed from the area during the treatment and until the application has completely dried. It should be safe for the chickens to return to this area as long as the manufacturer's product label instructions are followed.

    Will MSM Turf Herbicide kill my Bermuda that is just starting to emerge?
    I'm trying to kill Hairy Bittercress in my Bermuda lawn but my Bermuda is just starting to grow due to the afternoon late winter temps being in the low 70s. I can see green blades starting to emerge from the old brown grass.

    You can apply MSM during dormancy or after complete green-up of the Bermuda lawn in the spring.  You don’t want to apply any weed controls to the lawn during spring green-up since this is when the grass is in its most fragile state.

    Can I use MSM Turf on St. Augustine Grass to get rid of Virginia buttonweed and when it be sprayed?
    A

    MSM Turf Herbicide is safe to use on St. Augustine grass and is labeled to control seedling Virginia Buttonweed, but only suppress the more mature plants - repeat applications may be required in 4 to 6 weeks.  This basically means that it is more likely to kill newer growth, but will have a tougher time killing the more established Virgina Buttonweeds.  Best to start treatments when it just starts to emerge and is young

    Can MSM Turf be used to kill Lespedeza in Centipede and St. Augustine lawns?
    A

    Yes, Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled to kill lespedeza and can be used in Centipede and St. Augustine Lawns at the rate of 0.25 oz to 1.0 oz per acre for weed control. Some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following application however should recover. 

    For Lespedeza, the product label recommends the rate of 0.33 to 0.5 oz per acre.

    What is the recommended rate of MSM Turf Herbicide along with a surfactant to kill Virginia buttonweed in fescue?
    product will be spot sprayed with surfactant added. 4 gallon mix, central NC. area

    You will use 0.5 to 1.0 oz of MSM Turf Herbicide per acre for control of Virginia buttonweed. Per the product label, a subsequent application after 4-6 weeks may be needed. This breaks down to approx 0.005 to 0.01 oz per 1 gallon.  If you only have a small area you can spot treat.  If it is all over the lawn it is best to broadcast.  You would use the 0.01 oz per gallon for spot treating.

    To control Bahai grass, is it recommended to spray before or after mowing?
    Spray when the center stalk is fully deployed with the infamous "V" seed pods.
    A
    Because MSM Turf Herbicide works by being absorbed through the roots and by blocking cell division to prevent weed growth, applying before or after mowing should not make a difference, if used as directed on the manufacturer's product label.  On a side note, it is advisable to delay mowing for 2-3 days before and after any chemical treatment to your lawn.

    How long after using Dimension 2EW Herbicide on my lawn, can I allow my pets(cat dog) in the grass?

    Pets should not be present during the application of MSM Turf Herbicide or while wet. Once completely dry, it is safe for them to enter the treated areas (drying time can vary).
