    Q
Do very tiny red ants use abandoned wasp ground holes for homes?
I have extremely small -1/16" bright orange-red ants that suddenly appeared in quite a large number outside the raised foundation of my home in the foothills of central Calif. Nothing indoors but they had a wide trail from a potted plant (now gone) running right against the foundation to the corner of the house, then they lead away in a trail about one foot wide into the yard, which is bare decomposed granite and dry clay soil. I immediately ran for the 3 gal sprayer and mixed a batch of my go-to scorpion killer, Fastcap, and sprayed until all were thoroughly saturated. I came back about 30 min later and saw ants coming out of the ground everywhere. I had previously sprayed some ground wasp holes and the ants seem to be oblivious to the wasps, but I wonder if they might be using the old holes as ant nests? And if they're in the ground how deep do they tunnel?
    A

It is possible that another insect such as ants could occupy the space or nest left empty by another insect, especially if it is a cool underground spot. If you are going to treat what looks like a nesting area with a product like Onslaught FastCap, then I would treat the area like a fire ant mound. We have a video on this treatment in our Fire Ant Treatment Guide online here (Method 2).

    Q
Will Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide work for maggot prevention?
Have flies and then got maggots that keep coming back every now and then. wanted to treat house well. I have Fastcap.
    A

Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide is not directly labeled for maggots for the common house fly, but it would help with the maggot control as it would cause the fly population to decrease rapidly. It should be mixed at 0.5 oz. per gallon of water and applied on the exterior of the home focusing around windows, doors, areas of direct sunlight and where you notice the flies congregating. Using a fly bait trap such as the Flies Be Gone Trap to draw the flies away from the home is also recommended.

    Q
Can Onslaught FastCap be applied safely to orchids to control thrips?
    And if so what ratio?
    A

You can apply Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide under and around ornamental plants. It can be applied at a rate of 0.5 oz per gallon of water. Since orchids can be very sensitive plants, we recommend testing a small number of plants first.

How do I safely dispose of diluted Onslaught FastCap?
I read that, after mixing, I need to use Onslaught Fastcap within 24 hours. Is this accurate? If so, I need to know how to dispose of the unused portion. I mixed a gallon of spray but only ended up using half of it. Thank you!

    Q
Is ONSLAUGHT Fast Cap safe on leather?
I have bad infestation of clothes moths they are in my leather furniture. I also would like to know what can I wash my clothes in that will kill the moth eggs. They survive the sanitize wash and hi dryer cycles.
    A
Onslaught cannot be applied to mattresses, bedding, or furniture at all. We do not carry any products that can be applied to clothes or laundry. We would recommend you use the ProPest Pheronet Clothes Moth Traps. These traps will lure and kill webbing cloth moths, the most common type of clothes mothThis product is best used in conjunction with a crack and crevice aerosol to treat under and around baseboards and door frames in the infested areaWe recommend D-Force HPX Aerosol to treat these areas.  Please take a moment to read our article How to Get Rid of Clothes Moths to learn more about this pest.

    Q
Can I add 1once of Onslaught FastCap to my 1 gallon Ortho Home Defense?
I just got my order of Onslaught FastCap and I have an unused 1 gallon of Ortho Home Defense. Can I add an once of FastCap to the Ortho so I can use the Ortho as my sprayer? I find 3-5 bark scorpions per night outside and my and my sprayer broke. I need to kill them every night or they get into my house.
    A

No, we do not recommend mixing Onslaught FastCap with Ortho Home Defense as the products are not labeled to be mixed and that would cause them to not work effectively and possibly be dangerous. Also, we would not recommend using mixed Onslaught FastCap solution in an old Ortho Home Defense bottle. It is not legal to refill a labeled bottle with another product.

    Q
Can Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide be used in a vegetable garden?
    A

No, Onslaught FastCap cannot be used in a vegetable garden or on any edible vegetation at all, and should also be kept outside the root zone/drip line of the plants. The only insecticide we can currently find with scorpions and vegetables on the label is Essentria All Purpose and it likely would need to be reapplied every few weeks if there are scorpions in the garden area. The Onslaught Fastcap can be used in other areas of the yard, around the homes foundation, and indoors along baseboards and crevices for scorpions and other pests.
