    Q
What is the dilution of Onslaught in a bee bait.
How much to dilute this? What part water what part chemical??? Or just pour a little bit on top of our bait? Okay? We want to get rid of Yellow Jackets....we are mixing it with cat food which the bees seem to love! How many days of treatment is usually necessary to kill the nests?
    A
The amount of time it takes to eradicate bees will vary. You should notice a difference within a matter of days. Onslaught needs to mixed at 1oz onslaught to a gallon of water if spraying. If using a bait you want to mix 1/4 teaspoon of Onslaught per 12 oz. of bait.

  • Asked by Josue from San Tan Valley

    Q
Can you please clarify the mixing instructions on the Onslaught FastCap label?
I was wondering if you can explain why on the label it tells you to mix 7.93 ml per gallon of water, but then on the next column it says to use 40ml for 1 gallon?
    A

The first column of the application rate instructions on the Onslaught FastCap label refers to the amount of water that is diluted into a gallon of water.  In this case, it is 1 oz or 7.93 mL.  The second column refers to the area over which that gallon of mixed solution should be distributed.  In this case, the second column is telling you that one gallon of mixed solution will cover 1000 square feet, which works out to be 40mL of mixed solution per square meter.

    Q
Is Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide the best product to use for spider control?
Too many spider webs on exterior of house and garage. I take them down-next day their back.
    A

Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide would definitely be the best option for your needs. It is specifically formulated to better target spiders and scorpions with a more thorough and long lasting coverage for these hard to kill pests. Keep in mind, no matter what product you are using for scorpions, you have to create a wider barrier for them than any other pest around your home. For general insects you would treat with a barrier around the foundation 2 feet up and 2 feet out. With scorpions you should be doing 2-3 feet up and 6-10 feet out on the ground. You can also spray inside around cracks and crevices, baseboard areas, and potential entry points such as around window and door frames and where plumbing meets the wall.  Also make sure to treat any landscape areas around your home that they would be prone to hiding in, i.e., mulch, bark, landscape timbers, rocks etc. You can review more information for protecting your home from spiders in our article on Spider Control

  • Asked by Martha from Porterville, Calif.

    Q
Do very tiny red ants use abandoned wasp ground holes for homes?
I have extremely small -1/16" bright orange-red ants that suddenly appeared in quite a large number outside the raised foundation of my home in the foothills of central Calif. Nothing indoors but they had a wide trail from a potted plant (now gone) running right against the foundation to the corner of the house, then they lead away in a trail about one foot wide into the yard, which is bare decomposed granite and dry clay soil. I immediately ran for the 3 gal sprayer and mixed a batch of my go-to scorpion killer, Fastcap, and sprayed until all were thoroughly saturated. I came back about 30 min later and saw ants coming out of the ground everywhere. I had previously sprayed some ground wasp holes and the ants seem to be oblivious to the wasps, but I wonder if they might be using the old holes as ant nests? And if they're in the ground how deep do they tunnel?
    A

It is possible that another insect such as ants could occupy the space or nest left empty by another insect, especially if it is a cool underground spot. If you are going to treat what looks like a nesting area with a product like Onslaught FastCap, then I would treat the area like a fire ant mound. We have a video on this treatment in our Fire Ant Treatment Guide online here (Method 2).
