    Q
What is the best flea insecticide concentrate labeled for broadcast application indoors?
I had hoped to use D-Fense SC and Precor IGR concentrate; however, it appears that D-Fense SC can only be used for broadcast application in fighting flea infestations in commercial buildings, not residences.
    A
We recommend Onslaught. Onslaught is labeled for fleas and can be used as a broadcast spray indoors and outdoors. If you are treating indoors and may also need to treat outdoors you might want to consider using Archer IGR or Martins IGR as they are photostable and Precor IGR is not. You can save a few dollars by buying our Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit which contains Onslaught and Martins IGR.

    Q
Is Onslaught labeled to spray furniture for fleas?
My groomer just informed me that my dog has fleas. She sleeps on the couch all day long and I would like to spray it with something. I'm going to treat the entire house and was looking for a product that I can use everywhere. Can I spray Onslaught on the couch?
    A
Onslaught is not labeled for use on furniture. We recommend that you use Ultracide for the indoor treatment as it can be used on all carpeted areas, pet bedding and upholstered furniture. Ultracide Spray contains Permethrin and Phenothrin to kill adult fleas fast. It also contains Methoprene (an insect growth regulator) to prevent reinfestation for up to seven months. Methoprene penetrates deep into the base of carpet and upholstery fibers, where pre-adult fleas live, and targets fleas in the egg and larval stages of development, preventing them from producing new infestations of breeding, biting adults. Be sure to thoroughly vacuum immediately before the treatment and every day for the next 14 days to help speed up flea elimination.

    Q
Can Onslaught be used to spray carpet? If so, what needs to be done after it is dry?
    A
The Onslaught Insecticide is labeled to be used as a fine particle broadcast spray on carpets, rugs and pet bedding for fleas. Once the product is dry it is safe to resume normal activities in that area and no additional steps would be needed other than the once a day vacuuming for the fleas treatment. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Onslaught has made myself and my dog very sick. How long till the product is completely gone?
I had a mite infestation and I sprayed my clothes, sofa and mattress. Laying on the mattress has made me sick and my small puppy as well. How long till the product completely wears off? I am affraid to let my dog back on in the area of the house.
    A
Onslaught is not labeled to be used on clothing, mattresses or furniture and should only be applied as directed on the product label.  It can last up to 90 days or more on inside surfaces.  It would be best to thoroughly wash and clean anything that it was applied to that is not listed on the label.

    Q
Is Onslaught good for killing German roaches?
    A
Onslaught would do a great job eliminating German roaches. If you have a current indoor infestation we do recommend you also use a roach bait gel such as Advion Roach Bait Gel. Advion can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms, in places where it would not be appropriate to spray. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. You should also consider adding Gentrol IGR  to the Onslaught. Using Gentrol IGR will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of insecticide with an IGR and roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals.

    Q
Onslaught is supposed to be safe for pets if used as directed. However dogs and cats are very different.
Cats groom their paws and coats, and ingest anything, such as a residue. I have rescued cats in my home, awaiting adoption. Unfortunately, my home is cedar plank and I have located three startling nests in the knot holes. Too bad these cats don't hunt birds. I now have to tear out the interior plank boards to access the nests. Is this product VERY safe for use around cats?
    A
If you are spraying Onslaught Insecticide indoors, we would recommend not spraying when any animal is in the room. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for the animal(s) to return to the area. It will be safe for you to let your cats back into the area after the product has dried completely.

    Q
What's the difference between Onslaught and Onslaught FastCap?
    A

Both products have two different active ingredients. They are both labeled for various insects. Onslaught Fast Cap has the additional active ingredients of Prallethrin and Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO) that provide fast-acting control of pests. FastCap is like having two products in one without having to worry about mixing them.

Can you mix Onslaught Insecticide and Gentrol IGR in the same sprayer?
Can you mix and apply both Onslaught and Gentrol together in the same sprayer (mix both in the same gallon of water)? Application is to houses and yards in both Dallas, TX and Mead, OK. How much will I need to spray 2000 sq ft of house and 3+ acres of yard.
    A

Yes, Onslaught and Gentrol can both be mixed together in the same gallon of water.  You will mix both products at the rate of 1 oz per gallon of water.  Generally, one gallon of finished solution will cover around 1000 sq. ft.

    Q
Can Onslaught Fastcap be mixed with Talstar P or does this make the two products less effective
    A
These products should not be mixed together. There is no valid reason to mix Onslaught FastCap and Talstar P together.  They are both synthetic pyrethroids so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation

    Q
How long does Onslaught remain active after its been sprayed on baseboards and around entry ways etc?
    A
Onslaught Insecticide has a residual time of 2-3 months. When treating for roaches we recommend to reapply Onslaught once every two weeks. You also want to be using Roach bait like Maxforce Magnum roach bait gel.  Using a roach bait will ensure that the active ingredient will be taken back to the nest.

    Q
Will this product kill biting gnats (no-see-ums)?
I saw on the label it said it will kill "biting gnats" but I just wanted to ask about the no-see-ums specifically. Does the chemical leave a residue behind that will also repel the gnats also or just kill it if they land on it?
    A
Onslaught will kill no-see-ums, however as you hinted any gnat or flying insect will only die if they land on a treated surface and pick up the product on their bodies.  Unfortunately there is no product that will repel gnats or flying insects short of placing a huge net over the house.

    Q
I have 3 small children is onslaught safe for children after the application dries?
I want to make sure I understand what I need to do when re-entering home.
    A
Onslaught is safe to use in a home where children reside as long as the product label is followed and the children are out of the area while the product is applied and until it has dried. There are no extra precautions that need to be taken before re-entry.

    Q
    Is Onslaught safe for pets?
    A
Onslaught is safe to use around animals as long as they are out of the area while you are spraying. They can return as soon as the area is dry. Onslaught is odorless, dries clear, leaves no stains, is non-irritating to the skin, and will not break down easily with rainfall.

    Q
How many sq. ft. does on 16 oz. bottle of Onslaught cover?
I have bird mites & don't see that on your list. If you think this will work please let me know & how much I need for a 1800sq ft home. Do I need to do the attic? Have no basement.
    A
Onslaught is mixed at 0.5-1 fluid ounce per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. The pint will make between 16-32 gallons of finished solution. It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests.  Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

    Q
If I don't need the quicker knockdown, is there any reason that I would rather have Onslaught Fastcap versus Onslaught?
Is the residual time the same?
    A

The residual will be the same indoors and outdoors for Onslaught and Onslaught FastCap. It will offer a 30 day outdoor and 90 day indoor residual. They have the same listed pests on the product labels. You could apply Onslaught if you do not need a quick knockdown.

  • Asked by Elijah. from Florida

    Q
I am living in the state of Florida with 4 bedrooms, plus my two automobiles are full of biting mites.
    A
You can use Onslaught indoors and outdoors of your home. Onslaught Liquid Insecticide is micro-encapsulated, meaning that after the product is sprayed, the active ingredient is released slowly over time, producing long-lasting residual control of insect pests.
To treat mites in your car you could use a product like Cykick Aerosol along cracks and crevices. Then you can use a product like Sterifab on top of seat cushions. This product labeled to be used in areas where you may come in contact with.
