Pennington Bahiagrass Pensacola Grass Seed (Paspalum notatum) is a warm season perennial grass with long narrow leaves, tall seed stalks and earlier maturing than other Bahia types. Pensacola can break winter dormancy early and produce earlier forage than Argentine. Well adapted across the sandy and acidic soils of the coastal plains and tolerates poor fertility better than Bermudagrass. The most drought tolerant of the warm season perennials it can be used for pasture, hay, erosion control, and in wildlife food plots for turkey. 15 – 20 lbs per acre, April – June, maximum depth of 0.5 in.
