It is recommended that you remove your cats from the area until the Permethrin Granules have been watered in and the product is completely dried. Also, we would not recommend using this product within 3 feet of water.
Since Lizards are considered a beneficiai pest, there is not a product label to "kill" them. The best treatment is to use a product to eliminate their food source, insects. Permethrin Granules are labeled for a broad spectrum of pests and provides a good contact kill. Another general purpose granular for the yard and/or concentrate for the perimeter of the house is most ideal. Talstar is a great general purpose product and comes in both granular or concentrate. Follow the application label.
Per the manufacturer, the Permethrin Granules have a clay carrier.
Yes, Permethrin Granules can be applied under the pool deck of an above ground pool as long as they are watered in according to the product label. You will likely still need other control measures if wasps should become active in that area since this would not last through the winter months.
Permethrin Granules is labeled to kill spiders and earwigs. It's not meant to act as a repellent, but it will kill the listed pests that come across the product's residual.
As stated on the product label of Permethrin Granules, "To protect the environment, do not allow pesticide to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. Applying this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area,."
"Three Easy Steps to Use this Product:
Step #1: Determine size of the job, measure the area to be treated.
Step #2: Use spreader setting chart to determine appropriate setting for your spreader.
Step #3: Treat as directed in rate chart. Thorough coverage is important. Water in granules where indicated."
Watering the product in may be done by irrigation such as by a hose as long as you are following the instructions on the product label for the pest that you are targeting. We would not recommend watering in by rain.
Permethrin Granules are not specifically labeled to treat chiggers. Onslaught insecticide is labeled for chiggers and can be used both indoors and outdoors as a broadcast spray. Treatments for chiggers should begin in May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Onslaught to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.
It is recommended that you remove your animals from the area until the Permethrin Granules have been watered in and the product is completely dried. Also, we would not recommend using this product within 3 feet of water. Keep in mind that this product is only labeled for clover mites and not for poultry mites. You may consider using Onslaught Insecticide instead, which is labeled for mites in general and for use in and around poultry housing.
Whether you use granule or concentrate, you will have to remove all animals from application area and they cannot come back until the area is completely dry.
The product page states that a 10lb bag of Permethrin Granules can treat up to 5,000 sq. ft. A 25 lbs bag can treat up to 12,500 sq. ft. For armyworms, you will use 2 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. unless you have St. Augustine grass in which case you will need to use 3 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. Please review the product label for application instructions.
The Permethrin Granules do not specify if they can be used on sand against sand flies and gnats.
Temprid FX may be a better alternative treatment for sand flies, fungust gnats, etc. Temprid FX is mixed at 8ml to 16ml per gallon of water and can be reapplied at 7 to 10 intervals if needed but leaves a general residual of 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors.
Apply to outdoor surfaces, such as the exterior periemter foundation, outdoor surfaces of porches, patios, garages, fences and other areas where flies rest. Apply to bushes, trees, shrubs, and lawn areas as a direct spray into cracks in concrete where activity is seen. This is not applied as trench treatment.
