    Q
Why can permethrin be used in Advantics for dogs but not on cats?
Is there something about this chemical that is particularly dangerous to cats?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% contains permethrin which has been shown to be toxic to cats but is tested and approved for safe use on dogs.  Products with the same active such as Advantix are not formulated the same so are not universal for how they are used.   The inerts and formulation can vary from product to product.

    Q
Should I spray Permethrin SFR 36.8% on my lawn if it's frozen to prevent deer ticks?
    A

If the ground is frozen there really is no need to apply Permethrin SFR as the ticks will not be active and out in an area to absorb much of the chemical. It would be more beneficial to spray as we start getting into spring and temperatures are rising, when the insects would be more active and affected by your application.

  • Asked by Angie from Huntington Beach California
    08/12/2021
    Q
Can I use Ultracide Aerosol for a contact kill to fleas and then follow up with Permethrin SFR 36.8% and NyGuard IGR?
    A

There is no valid reason to use both Ultracide and Permethrin in the same areas.  Only one is needed when treating inside and the Ultracide already contains an IGR and residual killer as well so another is not needed on top.  Applying more product can make an area repellent and insects will avoid it so neither do the job of killing.  We have a guide that can help explain the treatment which includes non chemical steps as well.

    Q
Can I mix Permethrin SFR 36.8% with Exciter and Conquer for better control for Roaches?
We want to have a stronger residual and quicker knockdown for roaches in commercial kitchen. Was wondering if I could mix Permethrin SFR with both conquer and Exciter.
    A

You can mix Permethrin SFR with ExciteR, or Conquer with ExciteR, but you would not mix all 3 together as this would not be beneficial. Neither of those insecticides are top choices for roaches.

For a complete Roach Control Treatment Program, we would recommend one of our Roach Control Kits. These professional kits includes non-staining, low odor concentrated insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get Roach Bait Gel to help get rid of those roaches that like to hide. Baits can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, an Insect Growth Regulator is offered which will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. The insecticide must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer.

  • Asked by Bobby from Santa Fe Nm
    08/16/2021
    Q
Looking for an indoor/outdoor product to treat infestation for pinworms, termites and sewer fish that look like tadpoles in my sink, tub and toilets. They have migrated to my car and have trapped one in a plastic bag which resembles a snake. What are these insects and how can I get rid of them?
    A

Unfortunately, this is outside of our scope of knowledge. For pinworms, you will need treatment from a physician. Environmental treatments usually involve steam cleaning and washing and drying clothes on high heat. And for the insects in your sink, you may want to contact a professional pest control company so they can see what is going on for you. This is not a natural place for them to be and nothing is labeled to treat either area. We apologize we could not be more helpful.
