    Q
Is Permethrin SFR good for pecan trees bugs that eat all your leaves, I think they are worms!
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for pecan trees, so we would not recommend this product for this situation. In order to determine a produt labeled for your situation, you would need to confirm what bug you have. We would recommend talking to your local extension/arborist for assistance in determining what is attacking your trees

    Q
Can permethrin kill parasites that burrow in to my skin and my dogs
I have an infestation of some type of burrowing parasite or mite whatever it is and I need help. I have tried 100s of products nothing works
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for any type of parasite or mites on dogs or humans so we cannot recommend it be used. Scabies mites live on/in the skin and we do not carry anything to treat humans. Most folks need to visit their doctor to receive the medication needed to get rid of scabies. We would recommend reaching out to your vet to get your dogs issue diagnosed and correctly treated.

    Q
Are sweatbees a targeted pest of Permethrin SFR? If not what product would you recommend?
    A

Although Permethrin SFR 36.8% does not include "sweat bees" as a target pest, other various types of bees are included, so it is likely that this product could provide some control, if used as directed on the product label.

    Q
Can a marker dye be used with Permethrin SFR? Do you recommend any particular brand marker dye?
    A

Yes, the Permethrin SFR 36.8% may be used with a turf marker/dye. Add a small amount of the Turf Mark Blue to any liquid insecticide concentrate, herbicide or fungicide and see exactly where you've sprayed. Turf Mark Blue is mixed at a rate of 1/2 - 1 oz. of concentrate per 1 to 3 gallons of liquid insecticide. When applied to turf, the dye disappears within 24-48 hours. Do not use for general pest control treatments around a home as the product will stain and can be difficult to remove.

    Q
Will Permethrin kill sewer flys and is it safe for drains?
We have two showers and three sinks that drain into a separate grey water tank that we use for watering landscaping. The tank seems to promote sewer flys and we haven't found anything yet that is effective in eliminating them. Thanks
    A

We would not recommend using Permethrin SFR for this use in homes. Please check out our Drain Fly Kit to help with this. Nibor-D is also a great option for drain flies.

    Q
What is the best product for yellow jacket bees. I have used aspicide with no effect
    A
You may consider using Delta Dust Insecticide to dust entry points. As they come in/out they will get the product on their bodies & take it back with them. They will then distribute it among each other & kill the entire colony. Residual products such as Permethrin SFR 36.8% will only affect those that come in contact with treated areas. However, since Permethrin is an oil based product, it will discourage them from rebuilding their nest there

    Q
Would Permethrin SFR be effective for body lice infestation in an automobile…spray on carpet?
I’ve been using RID fabric spray and Hot Shot Bes Bug, Flea, & Lice bomb in car, but body lice persist.
    A
Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled to be used for body lice, it is only for use in/on livestock for lice.  Treating cars and homes/areas is not needed as these pests do not live long off their host.  We have a guide here that can help.  We do not actually have anything labeled for body lice.

    Q
It is spring in upstate New York. I have vegetable garden, with soil that has caterpillars, yellow eggs.
My garden is 60 square feet. I would like to try Permethrin this year. I am getting mixed advice. Dust and cover soil, liquid, percentage of product to use? I would like to hear your advice and how and what to use. Thank you
    A

The Permethrin SFR 36.8% that you are asking about cannot be shipped into the state of NY without a pest control license to purchase it. Permethrin also would not be recommended as the best option for caterpillars or worms in the soil nor is it labeled to be used on edible crops. Most caterpillar control comes from spraying the foliage of the plants they may try to ingest or damage during the first signs of insect activity during the season. A popular choice for this would be Southern Ag Thuricide.

    Q
Since Permethrin is non-systemic, can I apply around fruit tree roots?
Permethrin is not systemic so if I apply it to the soil around fruit trees it will not get absorbed into the tree thru the root system. Therefore the fruit is safe for consumption……Yes or No?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not a systemic product and is only labeled to be used on specific fruit trees in residential sites only.  Please refer to the product label for complete instructions on fruit trees and time to harvest after application.

Can Permethrin SFR be used on sweet corn silks to control ear worms and how long lasting?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% cannot be used on corn. Monterey Bug Buster-O would be a better option. Pyrethrins will degrade very rapidly in the sunlight. To make sure of getting the best performance, total coverage of the plant is most important.
