    Q
Can I use Permethrin SFR 36.8% on my cat?
    A

No, Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not safe to use on cats. In general, cats can be very sensitive to products containing the active ingredient permethrin, so you should refrain from using permethrin products around cats unless the product is expressly labeled for that application. Q
Can I mixed Permethrin SFR 36.8% with Pivot 10 IGR for fleas?
I have Permethrin SFR, Demon WP and Pivot 10 IGR. What is the best combination to treat for fleas?
    A

We would recommend using the combination of Permethrin SFR 36.8% and Pivot 10 IGR for active flea infestations both indoors and outdoors. These 2 products can be tank mixed in the same tank sparyer and applied in 1 application.

Demon WP would not be tank mixed with Permethrin SFR. Demon WP and Pivot 10 IGR can also be tank mixed together however indoors, applications should be along the cracks and crevices around the interior. Demon WP cannot be broadcasted over carpet areas. It also will leave a white powdery residue behind once the liquid application has dried.

    Q
Can Permethrin SFR 36.8 be used in a mist blower for mosquitoes?
    A

Permethrin SFR can be used in a mist blower when used as directed on the product label, but it is not labeled for mosquito control.

We recommend folks use a product such as Talstar P for a long lasting residual for mosquito control. Talstar cannot be used in a fogger but it can be used in mistblower, hand pump sprayer or a hose end sprayer for mosquito control.

    Q
Can I use Permetherin SFR as a braodcast and Proflex Encapsulated as a crack/crevice simultaneously?
I wanted to broadcast spray Permetherin on my carpets/floors to treat fleas. Proflex encapsulated says to use as a spot/crack/baseboard treatment. Could I spray both on the same day, separately? So I only have to suit up/evacuate the house one time.
    A
Yes, you may use both products in different areas as long as they do not overlap. However, Proflex includes two IGRs which immediately kills full-grown insects like roaches, crickets, fleas, and other insects. This powerful insecticide is perfect to use on both indoors and outdoors as a general surface, crack and crevice, or as a spot treatment. The Permethrin SFR is a broad spectrum insecticide that offers a quick knockdown of target pests as well as a long lasting residual that lasts for about 90 days indoors and 30 days outdoors. It may also be used as a broadcast or spot application in crawl spaces and indoors to carpeting, wood, tile, concrete or other structural building materials as a crack and crevice injection, or paint-on treatment. Please refer to label for specific use instructions.
(For use on plants intended only for aesthetic purposes or climatic modification and being grown in interior plantscapes, ornamental gardens or parks, or lawns and grounds.)

    Q
Will Permethrin SFR 36.8% kill cockroaches?
    A

Permethrin SFR 36.8% can kill roaches but it is not a top choice for active roaches indoors. If treating for an active roach infestation, we would recommend using one of our Roach Control Kits that contain the most effective combination of products and enough product for repeat applications that are required every 14 days.

Please view those Roach Control Kits and our Roach Treatment Guide for more information on the most effective treatment program.

Should a surfactant be tank mixed with Permethrin SFR 36.8% when spraying young pine trees?
    A

Per the product label, the addition of a surfactant with Permethrin SFR 36.8% will certainly help with penetration during the application and help it stick better to trunks, branches, limbs, foliage, etc.

A non ionic surfactant (wetting agent) such as Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker would be recommended at the rate of 2 - 4 tsp. per gallon of water.

    Q
Why not advised as mosquito control on lawns?
Can you tell me why? Permethrin SFR is not labeled to be used in home lawns for mosquito control
    A
Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for mosquitoes in lawns at all so not recommended. It is only labeled for treating mosquitoes in livestock premises.

For mosquitoes key is to apply to the underside of leaves on trees/bushes which is where the adults lay during the day, as well as shady areas.  You would not treat entire areas of the lawn that are in full sun as it is not habitable for them there.

  • Asked by Kathleen from Ponte Vedra, Fl
    07/14/2022
    Q
For lawn treatment, how many gallons of water and Permethrin SFR per 1,000 square feet for sod webworms?
    A

With Permethrin SFR 36.8% for sod webworms, you will mix 0.4 – 0.8 fl. oz. of Permethrin SFR in 4 to 25 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Use the higher rate for fast knockdown and increased residual control. Dense or excessive (greater than 3 inches) lawn height and arid conditions may require higher volume application rates. Repeat application if necessary. Application in combination with compatible surfactants or wetting agents may enhance penetration.  You want to make sure you are using enough water to get it down to where they are better so 1 gallon is usually not enough.
