TURFGRASS DISEASE CONTROL

ARMADA 50 WDG is a preventive and curative fungicide that may be applied to turf sites including institutional, commercial and residential lawns, sod farms, sports fields, parks, municipal grounds and cemeteries.

ARMADA 50 WDG is a broad spectrum fungicide for the control of dollar spot, brown patch, anthracnose, red thread, pink patch, leaf spot, grey leaf spot, rust, pink snowmold, microdochium patch, southern blight. stripe smut, and summer patch. When conditions are favorable for Pythium blight, mix a Pythium control fungicide with ARMADA 50 WDG.

  1. ARMADA 50 WDG IS BEST USED IN A PREVENTIVE DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAM.
  2. Apply listed rate in 1-2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft to ensure thorough coverage. For soil-borne diseases, such as summer patch and take-all patch, use sufficient water to reach the crown and upper root zone or irrigate immediately after application with sufficient water to move the active ingredient down into the crown and root zone of the turf.
  3. Apply after mowing OR allow sprayed area to completely dry before mowing.
  4. For control of both foliar and soil-borne diseases, allow sprayed area to completely dry before irrigation.
  5. Under conditions optimum for high disease pressure, use the higher rate and the shorter interval.
  6. For optimum turf quality and disease control, use ARMADA 50 WDG in conjunction with turf management practices that promote good health and optimum disease control.
  7. Before use of any fungicide, proper diagnosis of the organism causing the disease is important. Use of diagnostic kits or other means of identification of the disease organism is essential to determine the best control measures.

Plant Health

Apply ARMADA 50 WDG at 1.2 to 1.5 oz/1,000 sq ft to sod production of warm season grasses such as St. Augustine, centipede and Bermudagrass. The following plant health enhancements will be seen 30 to 60 days after application of ARMADA 50 WDG; visible leaf greenness and density. Sod laid under shade trees also benefits in turf quality when this application is made prior to transfer.

Apply ARMADA 50 WDG at 1.2-1.5 oz /1,000 sq ft 15-30 days pre-harvest for plant health benefits.

ORNAMENTAL DISEASE CONTROL

ARMADA 50 WDG is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide for the control of listed foliar and stem diseases of ornamentals and non-bearing fruit trees grown in interiorscapes (to include shopping malls, shopping centers, hotel lobbies) and residential and commercial landscapes.

Use restrictions for ARMADA 50 WDG on Ornamentals.

  • Applications with hose-end sprayers are permitted only for outdoor use on ornamentals.
  • Do not use ARMADA 50 WDG on bearing fruit trees.
  • ARMADA 50 WDG may be used on non- bearing trees. Non- bearing trees are defined as trees that will not bear fruit until at least 1 year after treatment.

Interiorscape, Commercial and Residential Landscape Applications

Foliar Diseases:

ARMADA 50 WDG will control foliar diseases of ornamental plants when applied as a foliar spray to the plant species listed on this label. Apply 3 to 9 oz ARMADA 50 WDG per 100 gallons of spray solution. Apply as a full-coverage spray to the point of drip and repeat at 14 to 28 day intervals until the threat of disease is over. Works Well But Difficult For Residential Use

    By Peter on 06/20/2016

    Verified Purchase

Armada 50 WDG proved to be highly effective against residential turf fungus, including Dollar Spot in Zoysia lawns. This wettable dust is meant to be mixed in an agitating spray tank, typical of commercial spray trucks. However, this type of equipment is beyond the capability of most home owners who tend toward hose end sprayers. This product cannot be used in typical home owner sprayers. It is possible to use this product in an agitating backpack sprayer for smaller applications, but this is not ideal. For large areas such as whole lawns(as it should be used) it is difficult to apply this product correctly without the proper equipment. Armada 50 WDG is a Group 3 & 11 fungicide and will need to be rotated with another product to avoid resistance.

I have used this product for years. It is unbeatable for fungus control in fescue in hot weather. But what I am truly impressed with is the advice and service I have gotten from domyownpestcontrol.com. Prompt and professional!

    Take-All patch treatment

    By Waynesworldtx on 07/18/2016

I only gave this fungicide 3 stars because it was somewhat difficult to apply. It would be much better if it was in liquid form. The granules did not dissolve easily and I had to stop and unclog the pump suction screen frequently on my spray rig. Only time will tell if the product works on take-all patch.

Q
Can you use Armada with a hose end sprayer?

Can you put this on the yard with a water hose sprayer -- the kind that attaches to a hose and mixes with water as it sprays?

A

No. Armada is a water dispersable granule that must be mixed in water in a pump sprayer, then be agitated, and continue to be agitated while being sprayed. This type of formulation is not made to be used with a hose end sprayer.

Q
I have a 2 gallon tank sprayer. Is this enough water to mix a 3 oz packet?

Directions of Armada WP indicate that one 3 oz packet treats 5000 sq ft of lawn but the mix rate is 1 to 2 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft. Assuming that I should not cut open the water soluble packet, I would need a larger (10 gallon) sprayer?

A

It depends on the type of disease you are controlling.  The label actually states for most diseases that you apply .6 oz of Armada per 1000 square feet.  If you mix 3 oz in 2 gallons of water, then that 3 oz mixture should be applied over 5000 square feet, which works out to be about a quart and a half per 1000 square feet.  After application, you can water in the product into the lawn to help it move into the thatch layer.  This would be the equivalent of spraying 5000 square feet with 10 gallons of water.
