The Tomahawk Humane Roundhouse Trap is a specially designed trap for feral cats. It can also be used for other animals of similar size. It is a one-of-a-kind humane circular trap that eliminates straight walls and corners for the trapped animal to push against. Emphasizes security and portability. Its internal plastic cover protects trapped animals from elements and keeps them calm. Its easy door release allows quick baiting, release, or transfer. Its side handle lets you carry it easily. Comes with a removable bait dish.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place the trap in trapping position by setting it on the ground with release door facing up. Unhook the spring clip from the release door, and slide door open to gain access to the inside of the trap.
2. Make sure food/water cup is attached to the trap before proceeding to step 3. It may have been dislodged during shipping. If so, put cup back by placing into the green plastic cut-out, and slide cup grooves over the trap wire from left to right until it’s firmly attached.
3. Locate the trap door which is on the side of the trap. Push the trap door open and into the trap pushing on or near the sheet metal portion of the door to dislodge it from the magnet. Swing the door in just past the trigger panel.
4. Locate the trigger panel which is attached to the bottom of the trap. One corner of the trigger panel is rounded with a hump pointing up. With the trap door open, reach into the trap and lift the trigger panel until it comes into contact with the door. Let the door ease back toward the closed position until it catches the hump on the trigger panel. Your trap is now set.
5. Place food in the food bowl as well as a small amount near the trap door and inside the trap opposite the trap door. This will draw the cat into the trap to find the food in the tray. Food only in the cup may confuse some cats who will scratch at the trap door and not enter.
6. Replace the release door and use the spring clip to latch it.

I haven't had this cage very long and I have trapped 2 feral cats one of the cats was very difficult to catch and I could never catch her I think she was familiar with the square traps the first night nothing the second night I got her and she was spayed thank God I think the fact it was round helped . Thank you

Cat feeder

The design of the trap is done very well, it's the latching mechanism that is the weak link. The magnet is not strong enough to detain an excited cat. I watched a cat set the trap, eat the tuna fish and then over power the magnetic latch and escape! I basically wasted a fair amount of money and still have the cat issue.

Cool trap

I bought this trap to catch two feral cats that were outside. I baited them for months. The first time the trap caught one, I thought it was in the bag but she was smart, she was out of the trap faster than I could put my winter boots on. The second cat was not as savy. I caught him, but I think it was because I added a super powered magnet to the door. I don't think the magnets are strong enough, but I improvised. Still trying to trap the first cat that got out. I think this is a cool trap but they have to throw in some sort of a clasp. This cat was strong. She pulled the door open and out she went. I like that they can't see out, it kept the cat calm, that is until I let it out.

Purrfect way to humanely trap a cat or kitten

Love this trap. Good design. It traps adults and kittens, negates the need for 2 traps of different sizes. Easier to handle, lighter, smaller, like the hatbox style design. Tail less likely to get caught. Less likely that cat can escape. Like the green lining, too. Fewer moving parts, less likely to break or need repair, I think. One of the catches on the food holder broke during use, not sure how, as a volunteer was using it that day, but no worries. Still a good trap.

I know how to SET the trap, but how do I leave the door open with the trap un-set (unset)? If I could do this, I could let the fraidy-cat get used to going in without trapping them. Later, I would set it.
You can use a zip tie to secure the door open without slipping under the trip plate on the Tomahawk Humane Roundhouse Trap and then cut off when not needed.

The Tomahawk Humane Roundhouse Trap is safe to trap animals when used as directed. Place food in the food bowl as well as a small amount near the trap door and inside the trap opposite the trap door. What has been the success rate and any potential for injury?
Tomahawk Humane Roundhouse Trap should not harm the kitten. You can watch this video that shows how sensitive the door actually is: https://youtu.be/DiR-TDb-rTA. The manufacturer said they made the trap where you could put a styrofoam cup in the doorway and it didn't destroy it.
