    Q
Do I have to add methylated seed oil to the Quincloracc 1.5L mixture? What application of seed oil be required?
    A

Prime Source Duo Stick is the MSO type surfactant we would recommend for use with Quincorac 1.5L as well as any other quinclorac specific crabgrass control product. You will use 0.16 - 0.48 fl. oz. of Duo Stick Select per gallon of water.

    Q
Which of the Quincloracs are more effective in crabgrass, Quinclorac 1.5L or Quinclorac 75 DF?
    A

They are comparable really just different formulations of the same active ingredient.  There is no difference in effectiveness since once diluted the rates are comparable. Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide being a liquid, Quinclorac 75 DF is water-soluble granule.

    Q
How many ounces of Quinclorac 1.5L should I use per gallon of water?
    A

Quinclorac 1.5L should be applied at 1.45 oz.per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft for spot spraying weeds directly.  For broadcasting across the lawn the label states to use 1.45 oz per 1000 sqft in at least 0.5 gallon of water but it could be 1-2 or more gallons to sufficiently cover the area.  Water is just the carrier when broadcasting so is not set and is however much water it takes you to cover the area which vary.

We have a video here that explains how to calibrate your sprayer for the amount of water it takes you to cover 1000 sqft

    Q
Will Quinclorac 1.5L work to kill torpedograss without killing the wanted Centipede grass?
I am trying to kill torpedograss on a centipede lawn.
    A

We would not recommend the Quinclorac 1.5L as it specifically states on the product label: DO NOT apply to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.

Most of the herbicides will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro and then reseed or sod in the treated areas.

    Q
Can Quincloracc 1.5L be tank mixed with 2,4-D?
    A

Yes, Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide can be mixed with 2,4-D as directed. Please find the label instructions here: “The most restrictive labeling applies to any tank mix. To increase spectrum of control of broadleaf weed species, a tank mix with 2,4-D, triclopyr, or other broadleaf herbicides may be used. For extended residual control, apply QUINCLORAC 1.5 L with Pendulum® herbicide or PRE-M® herbicide”.

  • Asked by James from Snellville

    Q
How many ounces of Quinclorac 1.5 L per 200 gal tank?
A lot of crabgrass and torpedo grass trying to broadcast spread from a 200 gallon tank
    A

How much of an herbicide such as Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide that you use will depend on the size of the area you are treating rather than the exact amount of water in your tank. Per the product label you use 64 oz of product in at least 20 gallons of water per acre, so you need to know how large of an area you are covering per 200 gallon tank in order to know how much herbicide to use per tank. We also have a video here to help you calibrate your spray tank.

Keep in mind that you also need to use a methylated seed oil surfactant, such as Prime Source Duo Stick Select, with quinclorac herbicides.

    Q
Does Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide kill tall fescue grass?
Does it kill tall fescue grass? My lawn is tall fescue grass. I only want to kill the invasive crabgrass without killing my grass.
    A

Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide is safe to use on tall fescue as directed on the product label.  It would not be applied to fine fescue unless as part of a seed blend as it could injure it.
