Quinclorac 1.5L is a liquid post-emergent herbicide that gives you unparalleled control over crabgrass and other related broadleaf weeds and grasses. Applicable in both residential and non-residential turfgrass, golf courses, and parks, the product's liquid formulation provides higher quality results when compared to dry formulations. Make sure to apply other herbicides to your property to control for weeds that the product does not cover.
The use of a methylated seed oil, such as Duo Stick Select is recommended to greatly enhance the effectiveness of the product.
For use in California: Biotypes of large and smooth crabgrass in California have shown varied response to this product. If control failure occurs following a full or split application, DO NOT reapply this product. Change to a herbicide with a different mode of action.

Apply QUINCLORAC 1.5 L to actively growing weeds as post-emergence broadcast or spot sprays using the turf species, rate and growth stages.
For best results, weeds should not be under stress from lack of water, excessive water, low fertility, mowing shock, excessive hot or cold temperatures, or injury from other herbicide applications. To achieve consistent weed control, use methylated seed oil. Refer to Tables 2 and 3 for rates.
Adding adjuvants may cause slight leaf burn, but new growth is normal, and turf vigor is not reduced. The potential for leaf burn is increased when relative humidity and temperature are high. Additional stress from low mowing heights may also increase the possibility of turf injury. Chelated iron or sprayable soluble nitrogen fertilizer will reduce a slight yellowing that may occur on some turf-grass species. Not all chelated iron or sprayable nitrogen fertilizers are compatible with QUINCLORAC 1.5 L. Always perform a compatibility test to ensure proper mixing. See Compatibility Test For Mix Components section of label for directions.
Spot Applications:
Post-emergence spot applications may be made to susceptible weeds in turf-grass that is tolerant to QUINCLORAC 1.5 L (see Tables 1 and 2). Apply 1.45 fluid ounces of QUINCLORAC 1.5 L per 1000 square feet (0.75 lb ae/A) of treated area. Spray coverage should be uniform and complete. See Table 5 for spot spray mix instructions.
For use in New York State by spot treatment only.
Works on Torpedograss

Control of existing torpedo grass/Northern Florida
By Michael on 07/31/2020
Tried for 3-4 years to kill torpedo grass in a zoysiagrass lawn. Used commercial spraying multiple times - at first sign/after growth/post emergence - with pretty much no results. Used this product as directed, and after 5-7 days torpedo grass had yellowed significantly. Reapplied 16 days later, as directed, and it stopped noticeable growth and basically killed off torpedo grass in the lawn.

Prime Source Duo Stick is the MSO type surfactant we would recommend for use with Quincorac 1.5L as well as any other quinclorac specific crabgrass control product. You will use 0.16 - 0.48 fl. oz. of Duo Stick Select per gallon of water.

They are comparable really just different formulations of the same active ingredient. There is no difference in effectiveness since once diluted the rates are comparable. Quinclorac 1.5L Herbicide being a liquid, Quinclorac 75 DF is water-soluble granule.

Quinclorac 1.5L should be applied at 1.45 oz.per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft for spot spraying weeds directly. For broadcasting across the lawn the label states to use 1.45 oz per 1000 sqft in at least 0.5 gallon of water but it could be 1-2 or more gallons to sufficiently cover the area. Water is just the carrier when broadcasting so is not set and is however much water it takes you to cover the area which vary.
We have a video here that explains how to calibrate your sprayer for the amount of water it takes you to cover 1000 sqftWas this answer helpful to you? YesNo

I am trying to kill torpedograss on a centipede lawn.
We would not recommend the Quinclorac 1.5L as it specifically states on the product label: DO NOT apply to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.
Most of the herbicides will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro and then reseed or sod in the treated areas.
