    Q
Are Quinclorac 75DF and Drive XLR8 both equal if used per directions (active ingredient percentage)?
    A

Drive XLR8 and Quinclorac 75 DF are different formulations so the percentage of active ingredient is different. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions. The use of a methylated seed oil surfactant, such as Duo Stick Select is recommended to greatly enhance the effectiveness of either of the products.

    Q
Is Blindside enough for post emergent weed control or do I need to use Quinclorac also? I have St. Augustine grass with some doveweed and crabgrass.
    A

We would recommend applying Blindside as it is labeled for what you are targeting and then treat with a pre-emergent in the fall and spring using Surflan (in the fall) and Prodiamine (in the spring).

    Q
If I applied Quinclorac in the morning and then a pop up thunderstorm hits that evening, do I need to reapply?
    A

As long as the Quinclorac 75 DF treated area had time to dry, rain will not wash it away. Dry time is typically about 4 hours.

    Q
What is the mix rate for Quinclorac 75 DF for crabgrass?
I only need to mix about 3 gallons I think to cover my 3K sq ft back lawn which has a bad crabgrass sprout right now. How much product should I mix in to control crabgrass in my lawn? The measuring cup is in oz that came with my product (Quinclorac 75 DF) and I think i mixed it too weak the first time I hit my lawn as I'm not seeing much yellowing.
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF when used as a broadcast spray is mixed at 0.367 oz. per 1000 sq.ft. in 1-2 gallons of water.

    Q
How long does it take to see results on Crabgrass with Quinclorac 75 DF and how long until you can reapply?
    A

When using Quinclorac 75 DF the kill time on weeds like crabgrass can vary on mix rate used and the maturity and growth stages of the weed. On average if you are using it with a surfactant it can take at least 14 days after application to see dead or dying weeds. Since summer is not the best time of year to treat for crabgrass and its much harder to control during this time, you may find that the results take longer or may have to do reapplications to get full control. You can retreat after 14-21 days.

    Q
Can Quinclorac 75 be mixed with Trimec?
    A

When applying any two herbicides at the same time you will need to do a jar test and check for compatibility and emulsion of the two products.  If the Quinclorac 75 DF and Trimec mix well and emulsify after agitation it would be ok to mix and apply them together.

What else do I need to purchase other than the Quinclorac 75 DF?
I'm a DIY because tired of chasing people to do this work but want to know what else (other chemicals to mix in, sprayer, etc.) I would need to purchase to kill crabgrass/clover in my lawn. I live in New England.
    A

Quinclorac 75 DF should be mixed with a nonionic surfactant in order to help it adhere to the weeds for better absorption.  You will also need a hand pump sprayer or backpack sprayer to apply.

  • Asked by Quintin from Kc
    04/10/2018
    Q
Can I mix Quinclorac 75 DF with SpeedZone on a Fescue lawn for a spot treatment?
    A

You should be able to safely mix the Quinclorac 75 DF with the Speedzone to get a wider range of weed and weedy grass control with no issues. As with any chemical mixture, be sure to do a tank mix test first to make sure no clumping or mixing issues occur and spot test a small area to be sure no undesirable effects occur from the mixture and use. Always follow the most restrictive label of the two for use. Per the Quinclorac 75 DF product label, only use on fine fescue if its incorporated into a fescue blend as some turf damage or discoloring could occur if its a fine fescue lawn only.
