QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer cannot be used on St Augustine grass, Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, or dichondra. Unfortunately, there really isn't a post-emergent crabgrass killer available for St Augustine grass unless you are willing to go to a higher price point. We do carry Echelon 4SC, and it is labeled for use on St Augustine. Still, the product label does warn "Application of Echelon 4SC to St. Augustinegrass may cause temporary discoloration to exposed leaf surfaces of St. Augustinegrass. Treated turfgrass will recover with new growth, and discolored leaf tissue will be removed with mowing."
QuinKill Max cannot be used on Bahia or St. Augustine grass. If you need to spot treat, you can also always use a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro and then replant in those areas.
QuinKill Max is labeled as safe to apply to fescue, rye, Bermuda, and zoysia grasses and should not harm them if used as directed. It should not be applied to bahia grass, carpetgrass, St. Augustine grass, centipede grass, or dichondra
QuinKill Max is not labeled to control Sisyrinchium. Atrazine is often used to control this plant in St. Augustine or Centipede turf. In other warm-season turf, you may have success with herbicides containing Trimec such as Fertilome Weed Free Zone. You can also always use a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro and just spot treat the areas where you find the blue-eyed grass.
QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer may be used as a spot treatment or broadcast spray over turfgrass, including Fescue, Rye, Bermuda, Zoysia if used as directed. Do not apply to to Bahia-grass, Carpet-grass, St. Augustine-grass, Centipede-grass, Dichondra, or lawns where clovers are present.
QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer can be used on Kentucky Bluegrass lawns to kill clovers and many other weeds. The verbiage on the product label stating “DO NOT apply to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present” would be referring to lawns that use clovers for desirable ground cover.
According to the QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer product label, this product can safely be applied to common Bermudagrass, annual Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Buffalograss, Tall Fescue, annual Ryegrass, perennial Ryegrass and Zoysiagrass. It should NOT be applied to Fine Fescue (unless part of a seed blend), Bahiagrass, Carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, Dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.
