Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV can be mixed at 1-2 ounces per gallon water to be applied in a mist blower.
For long lasting control of mosquitoes we recommend treating with Talstar P using a hand pump sprayer. Spray the underside of leaves of trees and bushes around your property and also treat door frames, window frames, and screens to stop the insects from coming indoors. Treat early morning or in the evening when the mosquitoes are most active for the best control. Riptide would only work well for quick control of flying insects but it does not offer a long lasting residual.
Using Riptide with the Talstar P will give you a fast knockdown and then the 30 day residual. Spray Talstar P and Riptide on trees, shrubs and bushes paying special attention to the underside of the leaves. You can also spray your lawn to help control the low flying gnats that tend to land there. Talstar P will give a long lasting residual while the Riptide will give you a fast knockdown. You can use both products in the same area to get both a fast knock down and a long lasting residual. It is best to treat in the early morning or the late evening when these pests are most active.

Riptide is a contact kill; it does not have any type of residual effect after it is dry. Talstar P (Talstar One) has a residual effect that would keep on killing for at least 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors. They are both wonderful options for mosquito control but if you are looking for something that is going to last longer, we would recommend using Talstar P (Talstar One).
