Riptide is a water-based product and would not work in a propane or thermal fogger. You will need an oil based product to use in the propane fogger such as Shockwave or ULD BP-300. Be sure to read the product labels located in the product description pages at the links provided to make sure these products will fit your needs. You should not apply when pets/animals are present. Do not allow adults, children, or pets to enter the treated area at least 15 minutes, until vapors, mists, and aerosols have dispersed, and the treated area has been thoroughly ventilated.
We would recommend to use Riptide 5.0% Pyrehtrin ULV with your ULV fogger. It is labeled for mosquitoes, ticks, midges and flies. We recommend reading over the product label for a complete list and instructions.
Yes, the Riptide 5& Pyrethrin ULV is labeled to treat for Yellow Jackets. According to the product label, the aforementioned outdoor ground application will give temporary relief of annoyance from these pests in listed outdoor areas. Direct application into tall grass, shrubbery and around lawns where these pests may hover or rest. Apply while air is still. Using Riptide with the Talstar P will give you a fast knockdown and then the 30 day residual. Spray Talstar P and Riptide on trees, shrubs, bushes, and ground. You can also spray your lawn to help control the low flying yellow jackets that tend to land there. Talstar P will give a long lasting residual while the Riptide will give you a fast knockdown. You can use both products in the same area to get both a fast knock down and a long lasting residual. It is best to treat in the early morning or the late evening when these pests are most active.
The size of your yard, how you dilute the product, and how heavily you apply will affect how quickly you go through it. There are many variables, but you can see use rates and application information on the product label.
Riptide is not organic. It is a water-based insecticide that contains 5% pyrethrins, a natural active ingredient which is derived from chrysanthemum flowers. Riptide also contains 25% Piperonly Butoxide, a chemical synergist designed to keep pyrethrins stable and allow for even quicker knockdown, meaning less active ingredient is needed to kill target pests.
Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV can be applied in misting systems but Talstar P cannot. Talstar P can be applied in a hand held pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, hose end sprayer and mist blower.
Riptide should not be affected by rain.
No, Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV cannot be used in lawn sprinkler systems.
Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV is a great choice for mosquto control. However, it does not leave any residual. We recommed Talstar P. It can be applied with a hand pump sprayer or a large mist blower. Talstar P does not provide an instant knockdown of pests, rather, pests pick up the residual active ingredient by contact. To get a faster initial knockdown when applying Talstar you can add a synergist like ExciteR or Exponent to kill insects on contact during application. You would want to keep pets out of the area while treating, but they can saftely retuen once the procts have completely dried.
While the Riptide and NyGuard are liquid concentrates and should work just fine in an aerosol machine such as the PAS, we do not recommend using Arilon in one. Arilon is a water-dispersible granule and forms a suspension when diluted rather than a solution, so it may not dispense correctly in the PAS. It is generally best to use a liquid concentrate in aerosol machines. If you are wanting to use a non-repellent, then Phantom or Temprid FX would be other great options.
Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV is not labeled to be applied via irrigation system, but by ULV fogger.
No, Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV is not labeled to be used on cattle for mites. Martin's Permethrin 10% is labeled for mites and fogging poultry houses, swine houses, cattle and horse barns, etc.
Riptide is not labeled to be used around or on any type of edibles. We would recommend using Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Broad Use Insecticide. It is labeled to be used on and around many kinds of edibles for control of mosquitoes.
For details regarding your request, please find the Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV SDS and look under toxicological information.
Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV can be used in mosquito misting systems or in backpack mist blowers for mosquito control. There is no residual with this product, so as soon as it’s dry, it will no longer be active in killing. If you’re looking for products that can provide up to a 30 day outdoor residual, we would recommend our Mosquito Control Kits. The products in the kit are also effective on fleas, ticks, and numerous other common household and lawn pests.
Riptide 5.0% will only kill insects while it is wet. This is a contact kill only product so once it is dry, it is completely safe, and completely gone leaving no residual behind.
Riptide would only offer a quick knockdown. We would recommend applying the liquids in our Professional Mosquito Control Kit in the mist blower and focusing on the undersides of the foliage, dense areas, shady/damp areas, lawns and other areas listed where there is pest pressure. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article for additional pro tips on How to Get Rid of Mosquitoes.
