    How much Rodeo to 1 gallon of water and how much surfactant do I dilute with it?
    I see that Rodeo is recommended to mix 2 and 2/3 oz per gallon of water, but surfactant is listed as between 0.12oz and 0.64 oz. Will be spraying aquatic weed alligator weed.

    You will use 2 2/3 fl. oz. of Rodeo Herbicide per gallon of water. You can use about 1/3 fl. oz. of Kinetic Nonionic Surfactant.

    Does Rodeo Herbicide kill lily pads?

    Rodeo Herbicide will kill Lily Pads. If you are making an application with a sprayer you would use approx.  2 and 2/3 fluid oz. Rodeo per gallon water or 5 pints Rodeo per acre. Please refer to the product label for application.

    Is Rodeo Herbicide safe for use around dogs?
    My dogs swim in and drink out of our pond, is this product safe for them and how long should I keep them away from the pond after using this product? Also, is it safe for the fish?

    Rodeo Herbicide is labeld for use in ponds, streams, lakes and other bodies of water including bodies of water that are located in wildlife habitats. Products that would harm fish or other aquatic animals would indicate on the product label that the product could not be used near bodies of water. When used as directed on the product label Rodeo should be safe for dogs and other animals.

    Is Rodeo Herbicide safe for fish?
    We have a large pond fed by a tributary from a river. Parrot feather is growing rapidly. Will this product help rid the pond of this invasive plant?
    A
    Yes, Rodeo is safe to use in ponds that have fish and other aquatic life. We just started carrying herbicides due to customer request, but they are not our specialty. We would like to refer you to the manufacturer to enquire about the parrot feather since they are the experts on their Rodeo product. The manufacturer is Dow AgroSciences, and you can reach them at 800-992-5994.

    How long can you store Rodeo Herbicide without it losing effectiveness?
    Rodeo seems to only come in 2.5 gallon containers and I don't need that much. If I buy it now, will it still be good next year and the year after?
    A
    Like most of our herbicides, Rodeo has a shelf life of 3-5 years if kept at moderate temps. Mkae sure that the lid is tightly sealed before storing.

    Can I use Rodeo to control cattails in my pond..I have fish in it and also get my domestic water from it?
    A
    According to the Rodeo product label the product can be used in a pond to control cattails and there are no water restrictions concerning fish or water usage. If a large area of the pond needs to be treated you should only treat a 1/3 - 1/2 of the lake at a time to avoid removing too much oxygen from the water which could impact aquatic life in the pond.

    Rodeo vs Round up?
    label active ingredients are the same yet one is labeled for aquatic use and the the other isn't, WHY ?
    A
    In cases where the active ingredients are the same but the usage is different there could be a couple of reasons, 1. The formula is different, meaning the base is different. The active ingredient is only one component of a finished product or 2. One company tested the product for specific uses and the other company did not. Use products in accordance with their product labels.

    What is the mix rate for Rodeo Herbicide when using it as a replacement for Roundup?
    I want to use this as a replacement for store-bought roundup, but am confused about mix rates for a pumpup or backpack sprayer. I want to use for nuisance weed control around ornamentals and trees- dandelion, thistle, etc- as well as invasive creeping charlie and garlic mustard etc. Also, how much surfactant should I use? Thanks!

    Will Rodeo kill duckweed?
    A
    The Rodeo Herbicide is not labeled to control duckweed so it may not work for your needs. The Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide is labeled for duckweed control and will do a good job. For duckweed control, apply Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide at 1-2 gallons/A + 32 oz./A of surfactant in at least 100 gallons of water. Treatment of dense weed areas may result in oxygen loss from decomposition of dead weeds. This loss of oxygen may cause fish suffocation. Therefore, treat only 1/3 to ½ of the water body area at one time and wait 14
    days between treatments.

    Is there a quantity in acres that Rodeo 2.5 gallons should cover? Does Rodeo need to be diluted?

    To determine how far one bottle of the Rodeo will go, you need to determine what type of vegetation you are treating and where you will be treating. We recommend that you review the Rodeo Product Label to determine the proper usage rate for your needs. Rodeo will need to be diluted with water as directed on the product label. You will also need to use a non-ionic surfactant such as Dyneamic in combination with the Rodeo for best results.

    I just purchased Rodeo Herbicide from you. Do you have an application rate suggestion for phragmites control?
    A
    Per page 9 of the Rodeo product label "For partial control of phragmites in Florida and the counties of other states bordering the Gulf of Mexico, apply 7 1/2 pints per acre as a boradcast spray or apply a 1 1/2 percent solution with hand-held equipment.  In other areas of the U.S, apply 4 to 6 pints per acre as a broadcast spray or apply a 3/4 percent solution with hand-held equipment for partial control.  For best results, treat during late summer or fall months when plants are actively growing and in full bloom.  Repeat treatments may be necessary to maintain control"

    When is the best time to apply Rodeo and how long should it be left alone before cutting back overgrowth ?

    Rodeo Herbicide would be applied when the target weeds are actively growing and healthy.  You should wait at least 2 days before mowing/cutting the area treated.
