    Q
Can I spray RoundUp on Damp plants?
We are currently having nightly frost and the next morning the plants(large patches of short weeds and grass) I want to kill are damp. Can I still mix and spray as normal?
    A
You are more than welcome to spray the roundup on the plants while they are still damp, just make sure no rain will occur within the next few hours that could potentially wash it away. Also, keep in mind that weeds and grasses have to normally be in an actively growing state (this means consistent temperatures over 65 for several days) to absorb any sort of nutrient into their system. This means if they are not allowing things into the plant system since its in a dormant state, you may not see full results when spraying this time of year even with a product like RoundUp.

    Q
Is it ok to spray QuikPro on unwanted vegetation and weeds around a big oak tree?
    A
Yes, you can use RoundUp QuikPro on vegetation around a tree.  If the tree is established, then the RoundUp should have no effect on the tree. You should try to limit the exposure to the tree and only directly treat the vegetation you are trying to get rid of.

  • Asked by Scott from Tn
    05/20/2012
    Q
I am wanting a low cost herbicide to kill everything in my forest floor, under and around my mature trees?
I have some heavy undergrowth and want to be able to look through my forest and enjoy the mature trees. I don't want to endanger my mature trees. I will selectively spray to avoid killing some of the desirable ferns, wild flowers etc. I have a 20 gal sprayer.
    A
QuickPro is your best option because it contains diquat to kill the brushy weeds on the forest floor.  You should only apply it to what you want to kill.  It may take multiple applications.  You can add to it some crossbow, which will enhance the QuickPro's effectiveness and will allow for less applications.

  • Asked by Donna

    Q
Is RoundUp QuikPRO safe for dogs?
My dog has a weak digestion system. Can QuickPRO harm him if he eats or licks grass or rocks that have been sprayed with QuikPRO? He is a small dog, 25 pounds.
    A
RoundUp QuickPRO will usually only last for about two weeks after it has been applied and it will kill just about any plant that it comes into contact with pretty quickly. Most customers just keep their pet off of the treated area until the dead plants are removed. But just to be safe we recommend that you call the manufacturer of RoundUp QuikPRO to ask specific questions, especially when it comes to pets.  The manufacturer is Monsanto Company, and the phone number is 1-800-332.3111.

  • Asked by Ray
    04/10/2010
    Q
Where, why, and how do I apply the Roundup QuikPro on my lawn weeds?
Do I use around shrubs or patio? Will it kill my grass?
    A
Roundup QuikPro is a professional version of Roundup, which is a non-selective herbicide killer.  This means it will kill anything you spray it on.  Even the over spray or spray caught by the wind that lands on a plant or grass will kill it.  You should only apply the product to weeds and other areas that you want to eliminate from your yard.  QuikPro is a granule that you mix with water and apply using a one gallon hand pump sprayer or larger sprayer.  If you do spray this around grass or shrubs, you should use something to block the shrub and grass from over spray.

    Q
    Mid spring applications after rain
I want to know if recent rain will affect desired kill on briars, thorn bushes, poison ivy? If used to treat overgrown unmanaged flower beds how long would wait to replant flowers and such as to not be affected ?
    A
RoundUp QuikPro is rain fast within 1 hour so as long as the rain did not come within that time frame after application there should be no effect on the kill.  After using Round Up QuickPro you should wait 14 days to replant.

  • Asked by Paul
    03/25/2010
    Q
I have an outbreak of quackgrass in my yard. How do I get rid of it?
    A

If only a small area of the lawn is affected by the outbreak, spray only the affected area with RoundUp Quick Pro. If the problem amounts to no more than a few spears of quackgrass in an area of your lawn, paint the individual spears with diluted RoundUp QuickPro. Becareful to avoid getting the product on desirable grass. If most of the lawn has been affected by quackgrass, the only sure fire way to get rid of it is to spray the entire lawn with Roundup. Spray when the lawn is growing actively, preferably in the spring. The treatment will kill the lawn grass as well as the quackgrass. After about two weeks, you may begin the replanting.

    Q
Can t Roundup QuikPRO kill bamboo trees
    A
You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump and then apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results. You should contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the master gardener on staff to see if you will be required to till your yard or if you can seed and fertilize only.
