Hammer yellow nutsedge
By Stephen on 06/29/2019
First became familiar with this product in the trial gardens where I work. We desucker baby peach trees and weed around them in prep for budding. I noticed that yellow nutsedge looked like someone torched it. When I enquired what product had been used I was told Sedgehammer. No I use it in my own garden.
great stuff!

Controls purple nutsedge; probably doesn't eradicate it
By Mr on 07/17/2019
I've been using SedgeHammer for more than 10 years in a largely unsuccessful effort to eradicate purple nutsedge from my tall fescue lawn. The nutsedge begins emerging in my lawn the last week of May or first week of June. It continues to emerge through the month of August and into early September. I usually apply the SedgeHammer herbicide to each plant using a spray bottle, and I thoroughly wet all leaves from top to bottom. Within a week's time the nutsedge leaves begin to turn yellow, and within a few weeks the plant will brown out and disappear
Great for killing nut grass.

Good product and fast delivery

When I first ordered SledgeHammer, my yard was so covered in nut sedge I had to try something. After applying the product, it took about 2 weeks to see the results. Since I had apparently missed some of the sedge, I placed a second order which I just applied today. Both orders were shipped quickly and arrived quicker than I had anticipated. If the need arises, I'll be ordering from them again.

Sedgehammer Came To The Rescue
By J. on 08/02/2019
For several years Nut Grass had been invading the Monkey Grass bordering our sidewalks, patio, and rose garden until it had become an eye sore. It was also spreading in the yard. Pulling the weed by hand without digging out the nut only made it worse. Digging out the nuts one at a time by hand was a losing effort. The Nut Grass was driving me nuts. After trying several types of commercially available weed killers which had no effect, Sedgehammer solved the problem. I use a rubber glove to apply Sedgehammer to the Nut Grass which has grown in among or in close proximity to ornamental plants even though it doesn't seem to kill anything other than Nut Grass. Be patient when using Sedgehammer, because you will not see immediate results. It takes several days before the plant begins to wilt and finally turns yellow and dies out after about two weeks or so. Last year we applied two gallons, this year I mixed up one quart and have used less than half.

Nutsedge gone

As an agronomist that is familiar with this herbicide for yellow nutsedge I was thrilled to find it available in a 1 gallon premix. I sprayed it on elongated sedge about four days after mowing. Waited 24 hrs and mowed it. It is all controlled. It takes a couple weeks to melt away but the roots are dead. I did not drown the weeds but just sprayed them until they were wet. Very good turf tolerance. I think if the weeds are growing well you will not fail to be impressed.

Works Great!

I had many Nutsedge plants, many of them 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Was advised by a landscaper not to pull them out but to treat with Sedgehammer. So we sprayed the plants and waited about 3 weeks. Pulled out the plants with roots and nuts/tubers. I now have a gardener who uses a string trimmer to cut off all weeds at ground level, including a little below ground level. It has only been about 2 months since then, but no sign of return of Nutsedge plants. Since I know they spread via the underground tubers and retuns/spread aggressively, I so glad. Now I have 2 packs of Sedgehammer to use in case they return, and based on these excellent results am confident the problem has been solved. Great product; great advice.

You will be singing it too...
By Andrea on 08/16/2019
If you are as old as I am, as soon as you start opening the package, you will also be singing the ol' Peter Gabriel song. :) And, I have to say, this stuff works! I bought three packets of it, used it on all the trouble spots in my yard and the nutsedge is gone! I seem to have missed one spot, so I ordered some more and will be hitting that spot this weekend. The packets make it super convenient for a 1 gallon tank sprayer and I started to see results in about 6 days. I will definitely be getting more of this if I see any more nutsedge popping up!
