    Sevin Concentrate does not have to be sprayed directly on bugs to be effective but is only labeled to be used for chinch bugs around sweet potatoes.

    How often do you treat trees for wood boring beetles using Sevin Concentrate?
    A

    Use Sevin Concentrate as a spot treatment, spraying to the point of run-off and  making sure to cover all sides of leaves and trunk. Reapply if pests return but repeat applications should be limited to no more than once per seven days

    Now that carbaryl is no longer available, what do I use to kill pecan weevils?
    A

    We would recommend using a product like Fertilome Tree and Shrub Systemic Drench.  This product is labeled for boring weevils in Pecan trees.

    If I spray Sevin on my bushes, will it hurt birds that go on them?
    A

    Sevin Concentrate will not harm birds or other wildlife when applied as directed on the product label. There is only a very small amount of pesticide over any given area, only enough to kill insects. It best applied when animals are not in the area until the application is dry.

    Can Sevin Concentrate be used for a soil drench application?
    I want to do a soil drench application with Sevin liquid concentrate to my indoor potted plants, but there is no mention of soil drench application on label, I'd like to know what instructions there are, if any, to properly treat my indoor potted plants with a soil drench.

    Sevin Concentrate is not labeled to be used on any indoor plants so we cannot provide information on soil drenching these.

    Where can I get a hose attachment for Sevin Concentrate?
    A

    There is not a hose attachment for Sevin Concentrate.  You can use a hose-end sprayer to apply the concentrate, or you can use Sevin Ready to Spray Insect Killer which comes with a hose attachment on the container.

    Which Sevin product should I use to kill the insect that is drying my lemon tree and turning the leaves black?
    A

    Sevin Concentrate is labeled for over 250 pests so that might be an option for you.  However, without knowing what type of insect you are actually treating for we cannot say for sure that it would work.  If you are able to get a good, clear picture of the pest, you are welcome to email it to us at [email protected] and we will do our best to identify it for you.  You can also contact your local cooperative extension office for assistance.

    Can I use Sevin Concentrate to kill Japanese beetle grubs in my soil?
    I have a few semi dwarf citrus trees that I am growing in trees boxes. I am finding Japanese beetle grubs/ larvae in the soil. How much can I apply in a 2.5 gallon watering can to kill these grubs via a drenching method? My tree boxes are 36" boxes. These grubs eats the roots I am told.

    Sevin Concentrate is not labeled for white grubs or for use in containerized plants. Bonide Systemic Granules can be use for grubs in ornamental plants (not if you eat the citrus).

    When is the best time to apply Sevin Concentrate to leland trees?

    Apply Sevin Concentrate where insects are expected to appear or when insects or damage are seen. Repeat as necessary according to site-specific directions listed below.  Please contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region for your target pest.

    Will Sevin kill balsam gall midge?

    Sevin Concentrate is labeled for midges.  I did find an article that states spraying is generally not used for this type though.unless heavily infested.

    Why should Sevin concentrate not be used on lawns
    A

    The older formulation of Sevin which contains carbaryl cannot be used on home lawns since this active ingredient is restricted on lawns in residential areas. The newer formulation of Sevin Concentrate contains a different active ingredient, zeta-cypermethrin, which can be applied to lawns. Please be sure that you are reading and following the label for the specific product that you have regarding how and where to apply.

    Can I use Sevin Concentrate on herbs outdoors?
    And if not do I need to pull out the herbs. I did spray them before I thought it may not be good for them.

    Sevin Concentrate can be used on a variety of vegetables, fruits, and nuts, but it is not labeled for use on herbs. We do not recommend consuming herbs that have been sprayed with this product.
