    Can you mix Simazine 4L with Roundup?
    It will be sprayed between spruce trees to control grass and weeds.

    You can mix Simazine 4L Herbicide with Roundup Pro Concentrate, but be advised that Roundup kills everything and not just the weeds you want killed.

    To reduce the chances of additional stress to your lawn, you should wait at least 2 to 3 days after applying a product like Simazine 4L Herbicide before mowing your lawn.

    Is simazine safe for established Asian Jasmine?

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is not safe for use over Asian jasmine or other similar groundcovers. Our most popular pre-emergent herbicide for use around established ornamental plants is Snapshot Herbicide.

    Is Simazine 4L Herbicide safe for soybeans and white pine and red pine seedlings?
    A

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is not labeled to be used on soybeans, so we would not recommend it. The only mention of soybeans on the label is a precaution stating, "In western Minnesota and eastern parts of the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Kansas, do not plant soybeans following corn treated with SIMAZINE 4L if more than 2 qts. of SIMAZINE 4L per acre (or equivalent rate in a band) were applied, as injury may occur."
     
    This product is labeled to be used on Red Pine (Norway Pine) and White Pine, however, it is not labeled specifically to be used on seedlings. Pre emergents stop seeds from germinating, and pre emergents are normally recommended to be used on established plants and grasses as instructed.

    What time of year is best to apply Simazine 4L Herbicide?
    A

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is a pre emergent that works to prevent listed weeds on the product label from germinating. Timing is very important in the success of pre emergent applications therefore we recommend contacting your County Extension Office for exact timing recommendations depending on the weeds targeted and your location as this can vary from region to region.

    Can Simazine 4L Herbicide be applied before planting switchgrass and oats as cover crop in an established hay field?
    A

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is actually labeled to kill switchgrass (Panicum) and wild oats therefore would not be recommended. 

    Contact your local Deptarment of Agriculture for their recommendations on a herbicide that would fit your needs and we can help locate a product by their suggestions.

    Can Simazine 4L Herbicide be applied to dormant Bermuda grass on athletic fields?

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is not labeled to be used on athletic fields, this is to be used for preemergence control on a variety of crops.

    Tenacity Herbicide can be used on athletic fields in dormant bermuda grass ONLY for early control of weeds.

    Can Simazine 4L Herbicide be applied after spring green up to St. Augustine and Bermudagrass lawns?
    A

    Simazine 4L Herbicide can be used on warm season turfgrasses such as St. Augustine and Bermudagrass.

    For bermudagrass, the product label does advise that applications of Simazine 4L Herbicide to nondormant bermudagrass, hybrid bermudagrass, and nondormant zoyziagrass can cause temporary slowing of growth and yellowing may occur following application. 

    Please refer to page 12-13 on the product label for more information and precautions when applying to residential lawns.

    Simazine 4L Herbicide should not be applied prior to planting field peas or okra or the year after application of the product.

    No, Simazine 4L Herbicide is not labeled to be used around or on lettuce. We currently do not carry something safe on lettuce, we recommend contacting your local extension of department of agriculture for approved/recommended products.

    Can Simazine 4L Herbicide be applied to celebration bermuda that is 5 months old for winter weeds? If so, at what rate should it be applied?
    A

    Simazine 4L states on the product label: Do not apply this product on newly seeded grasses until they have overwintered and have a well-developed rhizome system.  It would not be recommended to apply until the spring to be safe.

    Can Simazine 4L Herbicide be used for weed control in switchgrass?
    A

    Simazine 4L is not labeled to be used on switchgrass or listed to kill this native grass. We would not recommend contacting the manufacturer or local Master Gardener for clarification. According to this article by the UGA Extension office, Roundup is the best way to control weeds in Switchgrass.

    The mix rate for Simazine 4L Herbicide will depend on the application site (fruit and nut trees, field crops, nurseries, christmas tree plantings, turfgrass in fairways, lawns and other areas)

    Can Simazine 4L Herbicide be used for pre-emergent weed control to string beans?

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is not labeled to be used on string beans. You might consider using Prowl H2O as a pre-emergent on snap beans. Please read over the product label for complete application instructions.

    Will Simazine 4L Herbicide help control wild carrot?

    Simazine 4L Herbicide is not labeled to treat wild carrot. Fertilome Weed Free Zone is labeled to treat wild carrot and applied at the rate of 1.5-2 oz. per 1000 sq.ft. in 1-2 gallons of water.
